  • I’m not sure what you did but it worked fine on mine.

I have WP Edit Pro installed.

I also have the Page Builder by SiteOrigin installed which seems to give some people problems.

I did the same code example shown in the screenshot of the wpmathpub plugin.

The only error I got was referencing a font which couldn’t be found. This did not affect the output. I only knew about the error when I checked the wpmathpub tab under “Tools”.

Did you install the wpmathpub plugin? Did you get errors? Did you check the wpmathpub under “Tools” in the admin directory?

It doesn’t look like the wpmathpub plugin is supported that well, so I would look for another alternative. But, if you can’t find another one, you might want to give this one another look. It might take you a while to set it up, but it does seem to work.

You might want to take a look at the wpmathpub plugin. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wpmathpub/

I haven’t used it yet, but, according to the reviews, the ones who have used it seem to like it.

If it does work for you, do us a favor and let us know that it works with WP Edit.

    Thanks,
    Ron

Did you get my email that I sent you?

BTW, I’ve posted a few things on the pro forum.

    Hi tyekynan,

What editor are you using in WP?

    Have you tried switching themes?

I have tried different WP themes and got different results. In one case there was no volume control, other than just a black bar. Other problems came up depending on the theme.

I just went back to Twenty-Twelve theme for testing.

BTW, this wasn’t on a MAC. I just mention that to say that I don’t think it is problem just with the MAC.

Thanks. Likewise, your quick response gives me feedback also.

I’m trying to see if the method you’re using to hook in to the editor is different from others.

As admin the “user can” capabilities should be ok. I even commented them out just to check and got the same result.

I haven’t checked the javascript yet.

The odd thing is that the dropdown is highlighted when I cursor over it, but I get nothing when I click on it.

I’m also switching themes to check if there is something there, but so far it is the same on every theme.

I’m checking this in WP 3.5.2 MS, WP 3.6 and WP 3.7 beta.

    I’ll keep you posted.

I tried version 1.1.0. Still a no go.

I’ll be out of town today so I won’t get a chance to do much testing.

I’m using Windows although I don’t think that is the problem. What version of Jquery are you using and what theme?

I might send Josh a note and see if he can think of why your plugin won’t work. You don’t have that much code as far as the hook goes, so maybe he can spot something I didn’t. I’m sure it’s not a conflict with the UT plugin since I also tested it with the default WP editor and it didn’t work.

I also gave it a quick look in Firebug and I didn’t see anything unusual there.

I’m just curious. Have you told the author what backend improvements you’d like to see?

The author seems responsive to me. So far I would give the plugin 5 stars even though there are a couple of things not working for me.

So I was just wondering why you only give it four stars.

Thanks. That was a bear putting in that space in the other files. I just wanted to see how it looked.

I’ll install that on my test server and see how it looks.

Yes, I’m using the Visual Editor. I thought it was odd too. I should have gotten something from the dropdown, but I got nothing. That’s why I tried it with the other WP themes but no go in any of them.

As I mentioned, the Ultimate TinyMCE was the only plugin and I disabled it. BTW, I have been testing the Ultimate TinyMCE editor for Josh since the beginning so I am very familiar with it.

I’m running Firefox v.22 if that helps.

I test various other plugins for authors but yours is the only one where I’ve gotten no response.

Josh’s UT plugin does have a shortcode collector in the editor which lists all the shortcodes from all the activated plugins. Your shortcode shows up on there, but like I said, I deactivated UT so I knew it wasn’t interfering.

BTW, I also flushed the cache, deleted the history and did a few other steps to make sure that FF wasn’t bringing up the old cache.

I haven’t run this past Josh because your plugin is the only one exhibiting this behavior and Josh is developing a new version of his plugin.

If you have any ideas, let me know. I can give it a good test since I’m doing it on a local server so I control the whole environment.

Has anyone else mentioned that the dropdown wasn’t working for them?

    Ron

Yes, that works. That’s how I upgraded it from 4.8 to 4.8.1. I wanted to check out that rather just downloading and installing.

Josh, I’ve also got it installed on WP 3.6 single version and it’s working fine so far.

    Ron

Yes, I have upgraded to version 4.8.1 and can verify that everything works again.

That’s a strange error. I’ve seen other plugins that had a lot more revisions than this one and I didn’t see a problem.

All’s well that ends well, as they say.

    Thanks Josh.

    Ron

You’re welcome guys. I know how hard Josh works on this plugin so anything I can do to help him out, I’m willing to do.

Besides, I also know how frustrating it is when an upgrade doesn’t work and you want to get it installed and working.

I think the fault here might be on WordPress’ end.

Everything should be straightened out soon.

Look at my reply to “Does not download or update”.
