In reply to: How do I get rid of the 'edit' link for postsWith most browsers, hitting Ctrl + F5 instead of the usual F5 will refresh the page including cache.
That won’t delete your history.

In reply to: More tag problemsSamuel, I’d like to tell you that I’ve been struggling with this for months.
It’s all fixed now, just had to chance it to the_content in the main page template instead of the_excerpt.
Thank you so, so much. Thank you govpatel for continuing to give advice too!
RESOLVED ??

In reply to: More tag problemsGovpatel, by front page I meant the main page, sorry. I was just talking about the main page as opposed to the full post. Haha- funnily enough I just gave someone those same directions to make a a static front page: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/using-a-page-for-index-page?replies=3
Samuel, I’m going to look at that now. It sounds like exactly what the matter could be.
Thanks both of you!

In reply to: Sidebar issue on home page in IE6I hope I’m not too late, but you could try a trick I used for this page: https://newcastlechristianstudents.org
The text in the middle originally displayed correctly in all browsers other than Internet Explorer, which pushed it below the images instead of in between.
After much Googling and pulling out of hair and frustration at IE, I tried adding <span> tags around to trick it which fixed the problem.

In reply to: More tag problemsclick on posts and click edit post you will see your post click your mouse where you want break than press Alt+Shift+T and update and check see if you have a link continue reading
I tried that too and it’s just a shortcut for the Insert More Tag button. The post has a more tag, it just doesn’t do anything on the front page.

In reply to: More tag problemsThat’s just part of the theme. It doesn’t have anything to do with the more tag or summaries unfortunately. At least I have a way of getting to the post, but the main page is clearly not working properly.

In reply to: How to create links to static word press pages?Hi dragnovich,
I’ve quickly put together a page template for you. Download this zip file containing a php template:
roncya.com/transfer/listpages_template.zip
Then upload the php file it to your “wp-content/themes/CURRENT-THEME” folder.
Now, in WordPress, create a new page calling it whatever you want. On the right, select “Pages” as the template, then publish the page. This will give you a page listing all your pages. You can tweak the code yourself to make it look better: I’ve just told it to grab the header, sidebar, footer and pages.
By the way, you should change the visibility of this page so that users don’t see it- unless that is what you want.
Hope I’ve helped.

In reply to: using a page for index pageFirst, make a new page called ‘blog’ or ‘posts’ or something, with a matching slug. You don’t have to do anything else with it.
Then go to Settings, then Reading.
For “Front page displays” choose static page, then select the page you want as your front page. Then for your posts page select the blog/posts page you created.
Afterwards you’ll just need to change some old links to direct to your posts page instead of front page.
Cheers!
