Went through and uploaded a clean version of just that file, which worked perfectly without messing with the details I did on other pages within the theme. Thank you!

I want to clarify, that I’m using this through GoDaddy.

Thank you so much for explaining the difference between .com and .org! That’s something I’ve been trying to find out, but hadn’t really realized (until earlier today) they were different. WordPress.org is the one I want to use, then as I need full control of the site, and already have a place for it to be hosted.
I have a local install of WordPress, which is why I’m confused at being unable to find the files. I used XAMPP, and it’s installed within XAMPP, namely the htdocs. I originally had it set up to work with Dreamweaver, which was a pain in my butt trying to edit things together as certain needed features in Dreamweaver are extremely temperamental on my computer.
Should I try re-doing the install, without linking it with Dreamweaver? Any way that would make a difference?

I am planning to create an entirely new site, only keeping the domain name.

Not the sight I currently have up. I created it solely in Dreamweaver, and only in the past week or so even started looking into WordPress.
