In reply to: Still Getting Comment Notification EmailsIt sounds like you might have it set to notify you whenever a comment is held in moderation. (“…waiting for your approval”).
Check the Discussions settings again, using this page for reference:

I hope that helps; if not, write again and I’ll try to assist.

In reply to: WordPress install in addon domainHoly smokes, Ross and sffandom! I can’t believe I did that! That was a typo/error on my part in my hurry to show the world that I got the problem solved.
Of course, you are right. That is what I have in my General Settings, not what I listed above.
Hope I haven’t misled anyone.

In reply to: WordPress install in addon domainOK, guys, I want to thank you for trying to help me.
I got ahold of a Hostgator tech who said that while other webhosting companies allow removal of the “public_html/” part of the name, that is not how Hostgator does it. They confirmed that I had installed the addon domain correctly.
The solution to all of the errors was very simple and located in the General Settings. This setting was incorrect:
WordPress Address (URL): https://addondomain.primarydomain.com
Site Address (URL): https://addondomain.comThis is the correct setting:
WordPress Address (URL): https://primarydomain.com
Site Address (URL): https://addondomain.comOnce I changed the WordPress Address URL, the site began working properly. No problems logging in, no missing preview function, and the logged-in user status bar at the top is there.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help me. I hope this hopes someone else!

In reply to: WordPress install in addon domainThe site is live. Could I create a new domain in a stand-alone directory and a new database, recreate the site, then delete the old one? (No down time?)
If the addondomain.com is resolving correctly now, wouldn’t it then just automatically use the new install?
This whole addon stuff is pretty damn confusing. I Googled it to death before I started and thought I had everything covered. If you have any online resources you could point to, I’d be grateful.
I created it with a QuickInstall script. QuickInstall allows you to specify any installation locale you choose. Thought that would be okay.

In reply to: WordPress install in addon domainThanks for the response!
But do I actually need to reinstall WordPress do get the addon domain dashboard working properly?
Is there something else I can do?
Another problem: when I log in at addondomain.com/wp-login.php, it works. When I log out I’m taken to addondomain.primarydomain.com/wp-login.php?loggedout=true. But when I try logging in from that screen, the login page just reloads, with no errors.
One of my small nonprofit sites was shut down today by our webhost because this plugin was using too many resources, the first time I’ve ever had this happen.
Time.ly is a victim of its own success. I donated to their company when they first came out.
As the resource problem began to increase I almost bought the Pro version but several threads in the Time.ly support forum indicate that Pro support doesn’t resolve the resource issues, so I waited.
I wish Time.ly all the best and I’m sad to have to let them go.
If you’re going to try another calendar, let me know what you’ve decided on.
Quickest way: add this to your child theme stylesheet:
.entry-meta .by-author {display:none}

In reply to: As a CMSWhen you purchase this theme, you’ll be given access to the tutorials that show you how to post content to those boxes.
Just as the demo site shows you, some of the boxes contain the most recent posts, and one of the boxes contains information that you’ll enter in one of the widget boxes you’ll find here after you’ve installed the theme: Dashboard–>Appearance–>Widgets.
The information that is found in the beige navigation bar across the top (“Home”, “Curriculum”, “Schedule”, “Admissions”, “Student Services”, “Contact”) are titles of the pages you will create in that big editor box you mentioned.
You can purchase this book or use Google to find more information.
