The coordinators use a Constant Contact Account. See as one of those coordinators is my wife, I will look into that program and see if it offers the same kind of archive feature. Putting a permanent link on the site would be easy and efficient….

Our communications coordinators send out email blasts to the department, either to the entire email list or specific groups (choirs) I believe they are using constant contact to do this. Parents have asked if there is a way to have those emails available on the website. I’m sure for various reasons… but the request is out there.

In the past I have taken the email and manually converted it into a post. Which is simple to do, it just takes time. I am just curious is there is a more efficient way to do this. Automatically have the emails listed on a page that could then be opened and read…?

If you look at our site and the News Updates section on the homepage – you will see the emails I have converted. “Updates for our Middle School Choir”, etc. All of these messages were sent out to either the entire department or just a specific choir. I am using the Expiration plug-in to ensure “old news” doesn’t stay on the site forever.

So a quick question about deactivating Plugins.
By doing this, will I lose the settings that we created?
Or do I lose the data associated with them… IE – the expiration date on posts…

Once I made the first one Private, it created a second page that is now public….
I have deactivated the only plugin I added recently and that has not changed the situation.

What is a Widget Landing Page anyway?

The theme is 2010 –
I have deleted the page, I have changed the page to private, I have unchecked the box that Includes the page in the list of pages… Not sure what else to do.

The page goes away when deleted and then shows back up moments later.

See, I told I was new to this!

OK – perhaps you can help with another challenge.
When we create posts and edit pages, the system seems to be set to double space every time you hit enter. Regardless if you have selected Paragraph or Header 1.
The only way for text to be sent to the next line down is to keep typing and as it wraps, it drops down. But in some situations I need to be able to group short sentences together.

Tell me this another easy – right there in front of my face solution!!??

Working on getting access to the control panel at the hosting site.
Perhaps that will have a utility, otherwise, I’ll see if the FTP client will work. Until then I thought I would look for a better document management plug-in that might do the trick.

I am working a site for a high school department.
I’d like to limit the posts on a certain page to a date range. (last 30 days or so)
Kids from this year don’t care about a post from last year….
