In reply to: new incoming links problem topicupdate – I do have incoming links on a 3rd blog I just checked so the “incoming-links-not-showing-on-the-dashboard-phemonenon” is not consistent.
Did I edit a published post once too many times too quickly / ping google too many times too fast and annoy the Google-God???
or something???

In reply to: How can I convert my tags back to categories?I have found this plugin very helpful:

In reply to: How to align image in sidebarbut can it be controlled on a text widget – by – text widget basis?
i.e. I want an image in one text widget to align (in my case) in the center, but dont want the text (or images) in the other widgets to move from the right where they seem t0 align by default.
Text in the (text)widget(s) seem to align pretty easily, but this image I am trying to align is being pretty stubborn.
FYI theme being used in plaintxtblog but this seems inability to align an image in a text widget seems pretty common in just about all the themes I have tried.
thx for any help.

In reply to: Blank Tags With Numbered SlugsThe VERY, VERY kind Christine suggested that, for the the time being, I disable the Embedded Tag Thing and that has stopped the proliferation of the blank tags.
Additionally, the tag display functionality seems to continue to work- this may be because I had manually added
the Tags code to my theme? Thanks Christine!

In reply to: ugly tags<?php the_tags(); ?>
“default code” a la https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Template_Tags/the_tags that goes in the loop fixes the problem- it seems I was “putting the cart before the horse” and using unneeded code params per an outside WP-2.3 support article.
So simple it wuz hard ?? duh
thx

In reply to: export yahoo360 blog/ import to WP11 months later…
The closest I ever figured out to do was take all my posts in yahoo 360 (you *can* manually scroll thru all the posts and grab permanent links to each even tho you cant generate an xml feed of all posts) and publish them as links in the first post of my new blog.
Latest post on the old yahoo 360 blog tells visitors the site is deprecated and has moved and gives new new url.
Not perfect but does actually kinda sorta solve the seo problem of duplicate content on both sites which you could have with a Blogger/WP migration. Dealing with with another site here are some links I found useful in this regard:

In reply to: How Do You Mass Delete Hundreds Of Posts in WordPressWordPress Suicide was a great tool for me- I run a local copy of WordPress using WOS Portable for testing/experimenting, at the moment I am working on migrating a Joomla-Wordpress site to a regular WordPress site and I imported a heap’o RSS to see what it what it would look like. When I was done it took like 2 seconds to clean up the mess.
Thanks for the great plugin!
