In reply to: [WP-SpamShield] Plugin removed from repository?I’m sorry you feel that way. We speak the truth, and we always remain calm and factual. You are welcome to believe or not believe as you see fit. However, if you do not trust that we are honest, then I would advise not using our plugins. We would never recommend using plugins from a developer you do not trust.
Just to set the record straight…we were emailed after the fact. We have always complied with everything in the guidelines, and with every request from the Plugins Team, even if we disagreed. We had received no communication from them in approximately two weeks.
Unfortunately there are some very real issues that are coming to light. This is not a short-term issue. If anything, we’ve kept quiet about these issues for far too long.
Describing an action or behavior is not calling a name, it’s just telling it like it is. We have never called anyone a name, and we do not advocate that.
We won’t be responding further here, so as to prevent online arguments, flame-wars and such. If you need to contact us, please do so through our site.

In reply to: [WP-SpamShield] testimonial form blocked?Hi @norro88,
Please see the sticky post at the top of the forum: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING — Updated June 2017
Thanks!
Hi @tushov,
We received your support request at the WP-SpamShield support URL, so our support team will handle it from there, and help you resolve the issue.
We would ask that you not post duplicate support requests here and at the plugin’s support URL, as it only makes it more difficult to provide timely support. Thank you! ??
Please take note that we don’t provide support here at the forums, but we do provide excellent support through our site, which is better equipped to help our plugin users.
Please direct all future support requests to the plugin’s official support venue, the WP-SpamShield Technical Support page.
For more info, please see the sticky post at the top of this support forum — PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING — Updated June 2017, and follow the links there to our support documentation and to our official support page. (These links are also at the top of the plugin’s settings page.)

In reply to: [WP-SpamShield] Registration/po-filesHi @nikelaos,
Hello and first of all: Thank you or that plugin!
You’re welcome! ??
Our plugin documentation actually already answers these specific questions, so that’s the best place to go.
We ask that all plugin users please see the sticky post at the top of this support forum — PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING — Updated June 2017, and follow the links there to our support documentation and to our official support page. (These links are also at the top of the plugin’s settings page.)

In reply to: [WP-SpamShield] Two WP-Spamshield Plugins?Hi Abhijeet,
You’re welcome…happy to help! ??
Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [WP-SpamShield] Two WP-Spamshield Plugins? This was added in version 1.9.20. Please see the Changelog, as it’s explained there. It’s not a duplicate…it’s part of the plugin.
When you see something like that, the first thing you’ll want to do is check the changelogs for plugins on your site, as it would usually be explained there. If you still can’t find anything, and a file seems suspicious, then definitely ask. (You did the right thing…if it was malicious, then you would be able to get help.)

In reply to: [WP-SpamShield] 2 spaces after the closing php tagHi @oreillemalade,
Thank you for the kind words, and for taking the time to report this to us. ??
As part of best practices, we don’t usually have a closing PHP tag at the end of a file, and there is no closing PHP tag in the source code of that file, so it sounds like your file has been modified by some third party code. Please save the file, and submit a support request as soon as possible so we can examine the code.

In reply to: [WP-SpamShield] Admin notice about Plugin OrganizerHi @stagger-lee,
We are happy to help everyone, but I’m going to ask that you keep your comments civil per the forum guidelines. Thank you.
All admin notices in the plugin use the WordPress admin notices API and have been tested to work properly.
Please be aware that when we add a plugin to the Known Conflicts and Plugin Issues list, and it is known and documented that the two are not compatible (which is only done for good reason), if you choose to try to use them together, you do so at your own risk.
As noted above:
Please note that we don’t provide support here at the forums, but we do provide excellent support through our site, which is better equipped to help our plugin users.
Please direct all support requests to the plugin’s official support venue, the WP-SpamShield Technical Support page.
We are more than happy to provide tech support, but if you choose not use the not to use the provided support URL, then I’m sorry but there is not much more we can do to help.

Since the two plugins are not compatible, and this is already documented on the Known Conflicts and Plugin Issues page, I’m going to close this thread.

Hi @hannahrose,
“Validation errors occurred. Please correct the fields and submit it again.”
You’ll just need to check which fields were highlighted and correct the error. That’s pretty standard on support/contact forms.
Only paid support can submit a support.
We don’t have any paid support…All of our tech support is free. I’m not quite sure what made you think that we had paid support.
Please note what I mentioned above — we don’t do our tech support here, so you’ll need to use the tech support URL.

Hi @hannahrose,
I’m sorry to hear about the issue that you’re having. I don’t believe WP-SpamShield would cause that issue, but we’ll be happy to look into it for you if you submit a support request.

In reply to: [WP-SpamShield] Clash With Paypal CallbackHi @woolfcom,
WP-SpamShield would not block PayPal, and in fact the plugin already detects and whitelists PayPal.

In reply to: [WP-SpamShield] Shouldn’t this content be considered as spam?Hi @andregumieri,
You’re the site owner and the plugin knows this. We would hope you wouldn’t be spamming your own site! ?? The plugin’s filters are quite sophisticated and it tests more than just the content of the message/comment. The way to test it, is to simply turn it on, and let it work its magic.

Hi @codeninja88, @icegram and @prathameshp …perhaps I can help.
@codeninja88: Unfortunately the Email Subscribers & Newsletters plugin is not compatible with WP-SpamShield. We have info about the Email Subscribers & Newsletters plugin on our Known Issues and Plugin Conflicts page. We also provide some alternative solutions. If you have any questions or need further help, feel free to contact our tech support team.
@icegram and @prathameshp:
We have found some issues in your AJAX code that cause conflicts with a lot of other plugins, because there is some deviation from WordPress coding best practices. We have a compatibility guide for plugin developers that may help. You can use the form at the bottom to contact us if you need help or have questions.– Steven
