    @nootkan

WP-SpamShield does indeed work with Formidable Forms. If you are getting bombarded by bots, then WP-SpamShield is not active on the URL you getting the bot submissions, as it will block 100% of bot submissions. Be sure you have not disabled miscellaneous form protection.

At the top of the support forum there is a sticky post that we ask users to read first because it guides you to excellent troubleshooting options we have already put together for our plugin users.

We will be happy to help you. You will need to take the following steps:

    1. The Troubleshooting Guide and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are the place to start.

Please take a few minutes to work through these, as they solve over 90% of issues users have. (Please be sure to follow all the steps, not just read through them.) The issue might not be what you suspect.

Once you have gone through the Troubleshooting Guide and FAQs, if that doesn’t solve the issue, we’ll need a bit more info from you on the specifics, and we’ll need to email back and forth, so you should move on to the next step.

    2. Submit a support request using the secure form at the WP-SpamShield Support page, our main support channel for the plugin. We have an excellent diagnostic process.

That will allow us to help you diagnose this, find out what the real issue is, and get things working right for you.

Please note that the WP-SpamShield Support page is our main support venue, not the WordPress forums here, so that will always be the best way to get a quick response and resolve any tech support issues.

    Hi @jstneti,

The email obfuscation works perfectly. The obfuscation uses a randomized coding combination of three algorithms. (Almost all other obfuscations only use one, making it easier to decode.) Just make sure you are logged out when you check. Sometimes people forget this, and that could be why you didn’t see the encoded version. (Bots would never be logged in, so the obfuscation would not need to be active when a user is logged in.) View the page source in your browser by right-clicking, and selecting “View Source” (text varies slightly by browser).

Full details on the obfuscation are provided in the plugin documentation here: Configuration Information.

One thing to note, from the documentation:

It protects email addresses on pages, posts, comments, excerpts, and text widgets. (Note that this will not protect email addresses in themes — no plugin does that.)

If you have any further issues or questions, we will be happy to help you. You will need to take the following steps:

    Hi @pothound,

    It’s definitely there. ??

Please follow the directions here: Installing a WordPress Contact Form on Your Site

    Two things to note:

    1. The built-in WP-SpamShield contact form can be installed on WordPress “Pages” but not on “Posts” (as in, blog posts).
    2. To add the contact form, when you are editing the page, you need to be on the “Text” editor tab, not “Visual” editor.

If you any further issues after that, we will be happy to help you.
