In reply to: Letters “FT” changed to a pencil figureThis sounds like it may be related to how your plugin is picking up “ft” as a short code to create the icons. You may be able to get better support by posting your question in the support forum specific to the plugin you are using to format your website if that is the case.
If you type “after.” instead of “after” does it still change to a pencil?
Check out the following post below from a few years ago that referenced a similar issue.

In reply to: problems signing inThis sounds like it may be an issue with the setup related to user registration for your website. Check out the link below for additional information on the process to allow user registration on WordPress websites.

Are you using a plugin to manage your user registration associated with the website? If so, the issue may be related to the plugin you chose. If you are using a plugin, I recommend asking your question in the plugin developers and support community so they can help you with this.

In reply to: Unable to delete altered themeAs Steve mentioned above, if you have made changes within the Customizer the data will be stored in the database separate from the theme files. You will have to either edit the data manually or use a plugin similar to what Steve shared.
If you truly want to start from scratch, plugins such as WordPress Database Reset will allow you to start again from the beginning. This will remove all content from your website, so only do this if you want to start completely fresh.

In reply to: Creating a 3D “ACT NOW” buttonI checked out the page you referenced. Since the “ACT NOW” button does not actually react to mouse hover or clicks, you could create a similar result by turning an image into a button.
The specific process of creating a button with an image can vary based on your specific plugins. I would recommend watching a few tutorials on YouTube that demonstrate using an image as a button. Hopefully this will allow you to find one that will work with your setup and desired application. Good luck!

In reply to: Comment Name/Date issuesIf you can see the text when it is highlighted, it sounds like it may be a color issue. The comment text may be set to the same color as your background, thus invisible until highlighted. This could be corrected with custom CSS if it is the case.
I visited your site though and was able to see the comments in white text on the black background.

In reply to: post a graphic announcement which changes on scheduleTry checking out the Timed Content Plugin:
“The Timed Content plugin allows users to specify that a portion of a Page or Post should appear/be visible or disappear/be invisible based on given time characteristics. You can also make portions of a Post or Page be visible at certain dates and times; you can even set up a schedule!”

In reply to: Food Truck siteIf you have a site to use as reference, which it appears you do, you could inspect the website to look for the plugins they are using to have a starting point.
This can be done by inspecting the elements within a major browser or utilizing a browser extension that shows what theme and plugins a website is using.
Good luck!

In reply to: Remove Search Button in HeaderMost of the common web browsers offer an inspect elements option. Most commonly this is accessed by right clicking on your web page and selecting the “Inspect Element” option. This will open a window pane that will show the website HTML and CSS. As you hover over the items in the inspect pane, it will highlight the portions of the web page connected to that element.
See the following link for additional information for the major browsers.

In reply to: Remove Search Button in HeaderWhat theme are you using?
You may be able to remove the search button by editing the CSS file. Try inspecting your site to locate the DIV element that is associated with the search button. Once you locate it you should be able to add “display:none” in the Custom CSS to remove the search button. If you ever decide you need the button back, you can simply remove the text you added.
