UPDATE:

Ok, so what I did finally was disable all plugins via MySQL:

update wp_options set option_value = ” where option_name = ‘active_plugins’. The site is up and I’m able to log in. However, when I try accessing ‘https://localhost/mywordpress/some_link’, I get redirected to the XAMPP dashboard. Any suggestions? I’m checking the permalinks, but nothing stands out for me as ‘post name’ is selected.

I’m having a similar issue with wp-login.php. So I copied the code to a new file wp-login2.php and changed the links to same in the code, but this redirects to the production site.

Accessing the https://localhost/mywordpress/wp-admin/ will forward me to the production site as well.

Additionally, when clicking on different links from the homepage, I get redirected to https://localhost/, the XAMPP dashboard.

Revisa que el servicio de MySQL bd este activo. Tambien revise el link, https://localhost/wordpress_folder_name/ sera el link que le indica para la instalacion.

Can you confirm by checking your phpMyAdmin to see that the database contains these tables. Otherwise, I’ve found myself deleting the wp-config.php file and navigating to the WordPress folder from a browser to re-enter db info.

Ok, the credentials shouldn’t be the problem seeing as how you already took the initiative to try a manual connection.

This may mean the your MySQL service is stopped, and you’ll need to start it…as the message suggests. Check this and see if it helps.
