In reply to: Cannot change admin emailHi @diebornmans ,
Glad it wasn’t just me who was having trouble finding how to post a question!
If you go to the top of this page and within the breadcrumb line: “Support???Fixing WordPress???Cannot change admin email…” click the second link: “Fixing WordPress” (or find whichever category you need), then scroll to the BOTTOM of the page… (I know… not very intuitive!) then you will see boxes for the title and body of your post, and you can post from there.

In reply to: Cannot change admin emailThanks I will try and access the database. Sorry I thought the Web Host Manager was the server. That’s where it shows the Contact Email. But I will go in directly to the database.

In reply to: Cannot change admin emailThanks, I appreciate your help, but I have not accessed any options table. I only know the WP admin area and my domains listed in my WHM page. That’s where I can see the “contact email” for each site. Am I in the wrong place on the server? Or is “Contact Email” different from admin email?
Thanks

In reply to: Cannot change admin emailHi, I went to the database and according to that, the contact email IS the one I wanted. So I don’t understand why it says my personal email is the admin email in the WP dashboard.
Any ideas why this could be?
thanks

In reply to: Login Page keeps Redirecting. Cannot Login at all.Hi t-p
Thank you for your reply. The hosting company fixed it last time in a few seconds! (and no, they won’t tell me how).
So they must have changed something on the server. It can’t be due to plugins or themes.
So looking at this section, but I have no lcue what it means
“New Login File #
Sometimes the wp-login.php file may have been corrupted or uploaded incorrectly.Delete wp-login.php off of your server and upload a new copy from a fresh WordPress download. Remember, overwriting file via FTP can lead to incomplete transfers.
Edit wp-login.php as follows:
Go to the case retrievepassword section, found under this comment:// redefining user_login ensures we return the right case in the email
Replace:
$user_login = $user_data[“user_login”];With:
$user_login = $user_data->user_login; “The bits that don’t make sense to me are:
“Delete wp-login.php off of your server and upload a new copy from a fresh WordPress download.”A fresh WP download? I don’t understand this at all. How do I do that, when the whole site is built on WP? Won’t that get rid of all my content??!!
If I’m to get a new empty download, where do I download it TO please?! (I have always used a wizard in Cpanel to install WP)
I know how to use File Manager. Can I do something there please?
Thank you

In reply to: [Argent] Can’t wrap text around imagesHi thanks supernovia, I marked this thread as solved, as it worked OK once I was on a faster PC. (I found out my slow PC doesn’t work at busy times with Blocks)
But I haven’t updated it yet because I’m going to add a mini gallery instead and have the text underneath, due to them being tall portrait format images. Just got to figure out how to center NextGen Gallery. If that doesn’t work I will definitely try using Column Block, thanks for the tip!
So I don’t think it is theme related (blocks and slow PC related!)
Thanks

In reply to: How to? — Sort Pages so they are listed alphabeticallyHi @mercime,
Thank you – that’s great!
Now my pages are in an order that makes a lot more sense.
I gave them the numbers:
10,20,30,40,50,60,70
so I only have to add 31,32 etc, if I decide to add more. That’ll save re-numbering every page.thanks again
