    Hi again –

Is there a new release date for version 3.1?

    Thanks.

To correct a typo of mine above, here is my current search:

    [listing_search post_type=
    commercial search_bed=”off” search_bath=”off” search_rooms=”off” search_car=”off” search_house_category=”on” search_suburb=”on” search_city=”off” search_state=”on” search_postcode=”on” search_price=”on” search_land_area=”on” search_building_area=”on” search_other=”off”]

As noted, that text widget allows searches based upon sales price, but not based upon rent. I am presuming that the epl_listing_search_price_rental plugin is supposed to work for commercial properties, but as far as I can tell, it only works for house rentals. (In contrast, the epl_listing_search_price_sale plugin, which uses virtually identical code, works for all kinds of property.)

    Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, it’s appreciated.

One point that I should clarify re: the parent vs. child comment: Cities and counties can be somewhat distinct entities that can overlap with each other, so it might be appropriate to have the city to be the child of the state and to also have the county to separately be a child of the state.

A real world example of how this works: portions of the city of Kansas City, Missouri are located across four different counties, and Kansas City isn’t the only city that is located in those counties. (Confusingly enough, there is also a Kansas City, Kansas, but that is a completely different city from its Missouri counterpart. The two cities share proximity and a name, but are otherwise separate political entities — in the US, cities and counties don’t cross state lines.)

There are many instances when there will be different counties and cities that have the same names but that are located in different states, so it is necessary for a database that covers a wide area to be able to distinguish between different locations with the same name. The state names are unique, but the city and county names are not.

    Thanks again.
