In reply to: Implement maximum word length limit warning in Write Post areaHas this been considered at all?
It’s disappointing that this has still not been fixed in 2.3.3. It got to the point where I had to install a second WordPress just to keep the categories more separate.

In reply to: Private category“Category Levels 0.3.2” doesn’t seem to work with 2.2 but “Category Access 0.8.1” works well.

In reply to: Password protect categoryGood to use the search feature, many people have asked about this before. Unfortunately, since the last time I checked, there’s no way to do this, which is what prevents me from bringing over some of my other journal stuff into my WordPress (and lemme tell you, I HATE LiveJournal as it is, I’d love for WordPress to be able to implement this feature).

In reply to: HTML inputted into post converts wrongI did what Yosemite suggested and turned that off, and it appeared to work, but it’s still messing with the coding of my entry..! I’m not using the rich text editor; since changing my options, I’ve been putting in the code for my entries directly.
For example, this:
<p>Header</p>
Some text.<br />
Another line.<br />
End of paragraph.is turning into this:
<p>Header</p>
<p>Some text.<br />
Another line.<br />
End of paragraph.</p>I had some text in a table (because of some online quiz results and when the last paragraph came to an end in the table cell, there was no end paragraph. I get XHTML errors from the w3 validator because the paragraph tag doesn’t having a closing, and because breaks shouldn’t be nested inbetween paragraph tags. Why is it changing my code?
I agree, GIMP is the closest I’ve seen to Photoshop. I have Photoshop and have downloaded GIMP before, and can tell you from personal experience that the two are excellent tools (although if you’re looking for FREE programs, definitely go for GIMP. Don’t waste the money on Photoshop).

In reply to: Is there a sidebar calendar for entries (and not events)?LiveCalendar it is, then. I went ahead and installed the plugin, then activated it. So far so good, looks nice and seems functional. Thank you for your help.

In reply to: Is there a sidebar calendar for entries (and not events)? That’s specifically for archives rather than calendar. I don’t want anything to change on the page but the calendar. Like a dropdown box for year that I can select and change to 2004, and then the numbers would change slightly for that month (because it’d be the month stated but for 2004). I see this feature in LiveCalendar (on their site), but I didn’t know if WordPress’s calendar had a built-in feature for that (although I don’t see it on their get_calendar page.

In reply to: Is there a sidebar calendar for entries (and not events)?I’m not seeing anything for displaying by year, though (my blog goes back a couple of years). I take it I’d have to install a module then for a slightly more advanced calendar?
And what I mean by year is if I want to select year so that months of that year get displayed, to make it easier to search.

In reply to: Is there a sidebar calendar for entries (and not events)?Yeah, I just saw that too (the get_calendar one) after I posted. I feel silly! I always find the answer to my problem after I post about it, go figure. Thank you both.

In reply to: HTML inputted into post converts wrongHow do you turn it off? You mean going to Options > Writing
And then unchecking the “Users should use the visual rich editor by default”?
Because I’ve done that, made a new post with the html code I have saved elsewhere, and it changed the coding again to the examples above.
