In reply to: [Blogus] Featured image not setThank you for finally replying. Are you saying the featured image doesn’t populate on social platforms unless you use the share buttons on the post?
The featured image should be specified for each post in the metadata of the page, for example an og:image value:
These are respected and supported by all the major platforms. I wouldn’t expect someone to use an embedded share button. Can this be implemented? It seems a straightforward value to populate in the header.

In reply to: [Blogus] Featured image not setSeveral theme updates in the changelog, nothing about this problem. Does nobody else share blog post links to platforms like Facebook or LinkedIn? Or is everyone okay with the wrong image (or no image) showing up?

In reply to: [Blogus] Featured image doesn’t obey cropping, scalingBlogus doesn’t do ‘featured image’ well at all, which is ridiculous, as it’s a critical part of sharing content to other platforms. Posting a link to a Blogus-theme blog to Facebook will get you a flat imageless post or entirely the wrong image entirely.

In reply to: [Hueman] Site title not showing up in browser tabThis was very helpful. I’m not sure what changed and when, but this fixed my ‘missing site title in blog post page header’ problem. I was using a child theme of the Hueman theme and made the recommended changes to the header.php and functions.php files.

In reply to: [Mystique] [Theme: Mystique] Gravatars stuck on one value? Here’s my blog. The Disqus system picks up Gravatars fine, but the right-sidebar widget for comments shows the generic image:
Thank you!

In reply to: [Mystique] [Theme: Mystique] Gravatars stuck on one value? The gravatars look fine in the comments, but in the sidebar widget, it just shows the default you mention. But, I just realized the gravatars look good in the comments because they’re powered by Disqus. Do you know if there’s a conflict between your theme’s Gravatar setup and Disqus comments? Thanks!

Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Elementary TAR QuestionBut what’s the command to UnTar a file into a specific directory? That is, I’m guessing that within wordpress-x.x.x.tar.gz, the directory name ‘wordpress’ is specified as the default. But I want what’s in ‘wordpress’ to go into ‘bobsblog’ instead. Isn’t there a way to do this?

In reply to: b2 0.71 to WP – ABSPATH?Thanks for the pointer to the options table. I tried hoping for the set cookie to get me to the wp-admin/options page, but again, accessing anything under the directory redirected to the domain root. Instead, I manually set all the options via phpMyAdmin, and voila, it worked.
I think the developers should consider not making the system presume a root directory install, or at least find a way to help b2-2-wp.php set more of the values in that options table.
