On my server I have a folder called “gentium” within that it has four fonts in there from the same family: GenR102.TTF, GenAR102.TTF, GenI102.TTF and GenI102.TTF. There should also be eight additional files in there including .txt and .vfb files. I hope this helps.

Within the downloaded files for the plugin there was a font folder for me. In that font folder is the font that the captcha uses to make the code. I checked on my server and I didn’t have that font folder (it didn’t upload automatically from the auto install). I manually uploaded that font folder to my server and it worked for me.

You are probably missing the font folder. That’s what happened to me. I did automatic download from WP but it didn’t install the font folder. Download the plugin again and you’ll see the font folder. Upload that font folder and you’ll probably be good to go.
