Okay, so after contacting GoDaddy support and speaking with them, turns out it was a hacking attack:https://www.zdnet.com/article/bug-in-wordpress-plugin-can-let-hackers-wipe-up-to-200000-sites/
Unfortunately I was unable to get a restore done on the website so I will have to just start over from scratch in building the site.
