A bit more info on this one.

In my Portfolio Grid page, I have set the “Portfolio Page Options” section as follows:

“Order Items by” = “Menu Order” ; and

“Items per page” = “12”

(There are 29 portfolio items in total so I want to spread them over a few screens.)

I played around with these settings to see if that’s what was causing the problem – it was! I discovered the following:

When I set “Order items by” to “Date” or “Title” – everything works fine. All the portfolio items display, whether I have “Items per page” set to “12” or “All”;

When I set “Order items by” to “Random” or “Menu Order” – all OK if I set “Items per page” to “All”, BUT problems arise if I set “Items per page” to “12” as not all portfolio items appear on the portfolio grid page and some appear 2 or 3 times – sometimes on the same screen!

Can anyone explain why or offer up a solution, as I’d really like to order items by Menu Order with 12 items per page.

I haven’t used a Child Theme yet – again this will be the first time! What you say makes sense – thank you. I’ll have a go!

Thanks for that. What about if I want to change it further though by saving it as a Child theme (to ensure it remains up to date with the current Virtue theme) and then manually making further changes? Is it a two step process, i.e. should I make the changes to the Theme via the ‘Theme Options’ and ‘Customisation’ in WP first, then save the Parent theme as a Child theme before I amend the Child theme .css file further?
