I have the same problem.

The plugin creates database tables, but no information is saved into it. ‘Edit Ads Zone’ (0) is displayed while adding new zone.

I uninstalled the plugin, the data base tables were deleted; and re-installed the plugin, the database tables were created but the error is still there.

Since I was able to connect to the database with testconnection.php script above, it was certain that the problem is with wp-config.php file.

Changed wp-config.php database-user setting to root-user, WP started. Then reverted back to the database-user setting, WP started.

I could not figure-out what was wrong but concluded that it should have been a typo, if you are in a same situation check and recheck the wp-config.php and or try changing different user.

yes, I have disabled TS Custom Widgets plugin, I also disabled widget-on-page, and have added the widget directly to Secondary Widget Area of the theme (slidingdoor) but the problem is persistent.

Widget is added to all the pages (I don’t mind it while testing the site), the widget is rendered functionless on all pages except Home Page.

If you are right and there is a conflict with some other plugin, how can I resolve.

About the plugin: I liked if for its clean outlay and functionality. I hope it works for me.

The testconnection.php script for testing database connection connects successfully but still WP shows Error establishing a database connection.
