@gappiah I have cross-checked the form ID. My problem might not get solved by the method suggested by WPForms as I am not redirecting the user to a Thank You page after the form submission. I am just displaying a thank you message on screen.

@maybellyne Thanks for your suggestion. We checked the theme header and found an empty meta description tags. We removed the line of code and the issue got resolved!

@tofrus they are and they have admitted it. they are also working on it but we are now on version 16.6 and the issue occurred in version 16.2 onwards. however, it is low priority issue for them.

This might force users to switch to other SEO plugins like RankMath

@mikes41720 @jetxpert I have downgraded to v16.5 and tried checking in the Search Console. The issue persists.

@jetxpert Thanks. There seems to a Version 16.6-RC3 as well. Will upgrading to that help?

@jetxpert Thanks for suggesting this. Should I downgrade or wait for a fix? I remember a similar issue with FAQ schema. Yoast had released an emergency fix.

I edited the robots.txt manually – it overrode the virtual file used by Yoast.

@devnihil yes, I checked that. The permissions are fine. In fact, I deleted the robots.txt from server, still the same old file was visible when I access it through the browser or the Google tool. I created a new file using Yoast but still no change. There is some default setting somewhere.

@devnihil The only other major plugins that we are using are WP Rocket and Themify Builder.

@suascat_wp we have tried all those methods. Google Robots.txt tester is also reading the older version of the robots.txt

We are using WP Plugin abd CloudFront CDN – we have deleted the cache at both places and checked. Still the robots.txt is not getting updated.

Same here. I continue to get the same error even after updating to 15.9.1

on Google Rich Results Test

In all likelihood, this bug was introduced in the last update of the plugin. Since the Google bot doesn’t crawl all pages everyday, the issue surfaced with a lag. So rolling back the last update might be a quick fix. Please consider. Thanks.

Appreciate the quick response. However, it seems that several other users have been impacted as well (I have already seen their tickets). Though I am not sure, but it might start impacting our searching rankings and hence our businesses as well till the bug gets fixed. Thanks for your understanding.
