  • I’m having the same problem as xeduced, I had to go back to WP2.7.1 because 2.8 was a mess. Still no stats. can this be fixed or should I go back 1.4? The stats had stopped working there while I was in 2.7.1 so I updated top 2.8, the stats were that undefined yellow field, I went back to 2.7.1, updated the stats to 1.5 and still the yellow field -no stats.

I had to go back to WP 2.7.1. Stats no longer work, I get a yellow field with 2 brown lines on it, when the mouse goes over it a flag saying undefined appears.
I have entered the API several times and mad it link to the blog, still no stats. What else can I do?

I upgraded to 2.8 in my usual way using FTP to make sure there was no loss of content. I have never seen anything but the config-sample.php file, Now my blog is of line because getting to it, I get the polite message that there is no config.php file and it wants me to set one up. I don’t have all of the information and I cannot get the necessary passwords from my host even with help. In the past there has never been a config.php file only the ‘sample’ file. In the admin section on my host I can only find the database name, WP keeps rejecting all the information I put in and will not tell me what is the incorrect field of 4 fields. What can I do?
I have since reloaded the WP 2.7.1 files but I still get the ‘missing config.php’ notice.

I upgraded to 2.8 and when I went to the blog, I was told I would need a config.php file and I needed to set it up. All previous versions did not need the config file. It says set it up and then asks for information I do not have, DB name, DBusername, DBpassword, things I have NEVER had to deal with. I have contacted my host in order to see if we can find this information. But in the meantime the blog is Down. I( cannot post and noone can get there because of the polite “file missing” notice. How has my blog been working for 2 years without this config file? And why do I need it now?
I tried downgrading to 2.7 but the notice still comes up. And the site is down.
