In reply to: Anyone see this problemone other thing Michael. I think you may have confused post and pages.
If I understand your post correctly I think you had your test user create a post not a page.
I am talking about a problem related to pages and their apparent deletion most likely by a bug.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Anyone see this problemThe differences are:
I had about 6 test users. All pages were created by the admin (me) not users. Thus the page that was deleted had nothing to do with the users. I deleted 5 users and their posts and deleted 1 user and re-assigned their post to admin(me).
The page that was deleted had TDO mini form on it (plugin), which I don’t believe had anything to do with the deleteion.
Other plugins that are installed (but I don’t think they had anything to do with the deletion either): Custom Excerpts, Register Plus, Cforms,Peter’s Login Redirect, SI Captcha, Sidebar login, Wp-cumulus.

In reply to: Go Daddy Hosting?I second the above. Also have problems with recieving emails on user registrations and comments.
Godaddy claims its not their problem, but I believe it is.
Running on linux shared server, and receiving emails is intermittent, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.
If anyone has solved this on Godaddy please let me know.

In reply to: GoDaddy WordPress Install w/ Disabled “mail() function”I have similar problems. On Godaddy with a shared linux account and the email function seems to be intermittent.
Sometimes on user registrations both the user and I (admin) receive an email, sometimes the user doesn’t but I do. Sometimes neither recieves an email.
Is there a setup in the Godaddy configuration that needs to be tweaked?
this has been going on since I installed months ago.
I called Godaddy and they claim its not their issue, but I believe it is.
Now on version 2.7 but the problems are still there.

In reply to: [Plugin: Register Plus] Feature SuggestionsOn Password loss, feature for the user to set his own password through email verfication link (instead of current automated password generation)
I second this suggestion by one of the posters above.
Would be very usefull to have this capability, which would eliminate the need to display the full profile page (at least for our requirements).
Thanks.

In reply to: Current passsword emailedIt sounds like you are trying to use WordPress but completely hide the fact that you are using this wonderful, FREE program. Shame-shame
You didn’t understand what I am doing.
First, every WordPress site we build has a Highslide credit pop-up that credits WordPress and every plugin used in the site (with links to the WordPress site and each plugin developer’s site), which is more then 90% of the WordPress sites I have seen to date.
I want a user to be able to reset their password without displaying the full profile page, which includes things we don’t want them to access. I was just looking for a plugin that may do this.
This would be a natural extension of Register Plus but it doesn’t do this.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Current passsword emailedI would like the users not to see the WP pages and I don’t think that you can convert the profile page (and the other WP) to display as part of the theme I am planning to use, unless there is a plugin that does that. But I have not see one.
I also don’t need any of the other information on the profile page, just email address and password.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Current passsword emailedthe problem is that I use Register Plus (plugin) and it allows you to change the password to whatever the user wants to use, on a custom registration (username, email and password only).
However if the user forgets the password a cryptic one is sent to him/her, and there is no way to let the user reset the password without displaying the WP registration/profile page which I don’t want users to see.

In reply to: Delete or Remove Time/Date StampI have the same problem. both the static pages and blog page display the timestamp, author, etc.
the page.php file does not have anything related to timestamp in it.
the index.php file has the following code which appears to execute for both static and blog pages.
What needs to be modified so that only th blog page displays the timestamp, etc.?
<?php if (have_posts()) : ?>
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
<div class=”post” id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>”>
<h2>” rel=”bookmark” title=”<?php the_title(); ?>”><?php the_title(); ?></h2>
<h6><?php the_time(‘l, F jS, Y’); ?> | Author: <?php the_author(); ?> | <?php the_category(‘, ‘); ?> | <?php comments_popup_link(__(‘No Comments’), __(‘1 Comment’), __(‘% Comments’)); ?></h6><?php the_content(‘Continue Reading…’); ?>
<?php the_tags(‘<p class=”tags”>Tags: ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘</p>’); ?><div class=”clear”></div>
</div>

In reply to: Plugin activation/deactivationJust installed another plugin and activated it and it displayed on both the active and deactivated lists
I then activated the one displaying in the deactivated list and now there are 2 copies in the active list and under settings the menu item shows twice and all settings under either menu item (for Register plus) display twice.
If I deactivate one of the copies and then try to delete it indicates that it will delete both copies.
I don’t know what changed but until about a week ago everything worked without a problem with the plugins.
Anyone see this and resolve it????
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Plugin activation/deactivationthanks but I only want to delete/remove those that appear to be deactivated without touching the same ones that are active and working.
from looking at the plugin directory I think both the active and decativated plugins are pointing to the same place in the diretory. Which I think means that deleteing the decatived ones will also delete the active ones.
I tweaked the plugins and don’t want to remove them if at all possible.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Plugin activation/deactivationI upload an image of the plugin problem.
can’t figure out why it displays the plugins in both places.
