Hi, @kutatishh!
Thank you so much for leaving review!
It’s great to hear you’re using the WP Mail SMTP plugin on all of your websites.
We hope you continue to have a 5-star experience ??
Hi, @bloke!
Recently, Microsoft updated its email service connections by removing Basic authentication. This change affects users trying to connect via their SMTP server using the “Other SMTP” mailer. Unfortunately, because of these changes on Microsoft’s end, we can’t re-enable Basic authentication. This change prevents SMTP plugins like ours, as well as other software, from being able to connect to Outlook over SMTP.
You can still connect to Outlook using the “Outlook” mailer in WP Mail SMTP, which uses Modern authentication with OAuth2 for a secure connection. However, it’s important to note that Microsoft no longer supports this connection method for free accounts. If you have a paid Azure account, a Microsoft 365 account, or another upgraded Microsoft account, you should still be able to create the necessary credentials for the “Outlook” mailer.
I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.
Kind regards.
Hi, @ariacheng!
Thanks for reaching out.
If test email in the WP Mail SMTP plugin is sent successfully, it means that the plugin is configured properly, and works as expected.
Seems, that the “Contact Form 7” was preventing the form submission itself.
But as I can see, you’ve already switched to other form plugin, and the “Contact Us” form can be submitted without issues (screenshot).
If you want switch back to the “Contact Form 7” plugin, please reach out to their support team regarding the described issue. They’d hopefully be able to help.
Kind regards.
Hi, @elanibal!
Thanks for reaching out.
Such an issue can happen if WordPress is sending an email before loading plugins.
We’ve tested with WordPress automatic updates that run in a cron job, and email was sent via the WP Mail SMTP plugin.
Maybe you use some external tool for automatic updates?
Hi, @emyvyn!
Thanks for getting in touch!
Please note, that the WP Mail SMTP plugin doesn’t trigger email sending itself. It just bridges a connection between your WordPress site and your chosen email mailing service.
For example, you have a contact (or order) form on your website -> the user submits it -> sending of the notification email about the submission is triggered on the form (or other) level plugin -> this email goes to the WP Mail SMTP plugin -> WP Mail SMTP plugin routes this email to the mailer -> mailer will send and deliver it further.
You can enable the Debug Email Sending option (please, take a look: https://a.supportally.com/i/e1cJPW) to figure out who initiates sending of these duplicated emails -> reproduce the issue -> check the backtrace of the “original” and “extra” emails (please, take a look: https://a.supportally.com/i/M8FUBs).
You can also share these backtraces with us so we can help to find out the initiator of the duplicate email.
Kind regards,
Hi, @nozaden!
We haven’t heard from you in a while, so I’m going to go ahead and close out this thread for now. If you’re still having trouble, feel free to respond here at your convenience and we’ll be happy to help.

Hi, @rashamatt.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, and we apologize for any confusion with this.
WP Mail SMTP Lite, our free version, never had the feature to store email logs.
The lite version of WP Mail SMTP is designed to provide everything you need to send emails reliably.
As mentioned in our plugin description, the Pro version of WP Mail SMTP provides additional features such as Email Logging. Screenshot: https://a.supportally.com/i/PzChxv

Please note that this behavior will be changed in the next release, so there will be no possibility of getting these details when you inspect the website.

Hi, @webberzprg!
Thanks for getting in touch!
I’m sorry, but we won’t be able to suggest a resolution since it’s not a plugin-related issue.
You’ll need to set up restrictions in the way to allow SMTP connection from your website server.
Please, contact your hosting provider support. Hopefully, they’ll be able to help.
Kind regards.
