In reply to: How to stop hacking attempts?Thank you songdogtech, yes I followed the instructions on completely cleaning out the hacked wordpress. I will be reading on how to find a backdoor next, if all else fails I will have to switch hosts, I’ve never had this problem before with other hosts.

In reply to: Problem uploading theme….lost my “Home” pagewow, this was pretty shameful, i’ve never browsed around here before, but this is horrible, speaking as a webmaster, your service is dispicable, i admired wordpress untill now, look, i know it’s a free service, but still, its not right to leave something go unanswered for 8 months, 8 MONTHS!!! that is horrible, absolutely disgraceful to your community. now i know what the other user was talking about. i am actually mad, i’ve been a webmaster for a long time now, and this kind of support, well it leaves me speachless, do you know how hard it is for some people to get, save up for in most cases, a web host, so they could have their own blog or site. YOU GUYS DISGUST ME! to let this post go unanswered for so damn long…

In reply to: Problem uploading theme….lost my “Home” pageby the way, using an ftp like filezilla is not so complicated, your basically going to just open it up, log in, and youll see your directory and files. your login is going to be something simple (unless your using a weird host like gaydaddy.com).
it’s usually something like:
https://ftp.jessicabyers.com/
your user name
your passwordjust leave the area where it says “port” empty. (usually)
then click connect, and your all set. the rest is pretty self explanitory. you see your files on your computer to the left side, files on your host on the right side.
once your connected you’ll see some folders, go to the one that says (usually) ‘public’ or ‘public_html’
all those .php files is your wordpress
now go to the folder that says “wp-content”
next go to the folder that says “themes”drag the theme you want to install into that folder, let it upload till it says done…..
NOW, go to:
https://jessicabyers.com/blog/wp-admin/themes.php
and viola, your new theme should show up, you click it, and activate it, but you probably already know that… ??
Goodluck! wordpress is being funky for me to…Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Problem uploading theme….lost my “Home” pagezing. look i’ll add ‘zing’ to the tags. —>
i actually have the same problem that’s how i ended up in this post.. i just uploaded my new *premium* theme from transmit and it’s just not showing up in the theme panel, (yes i refreshed damnit). im not a backend programmer, but i’ve exhausted every possible thing i can think of. what the hell? im confused, and i’ve been a webmaster for 8 years lol, i use joomla, mambo, everything.. (so don’t ask me something stupid like if i “uploaded it in the right directory”) usually it’s something small and overlooked, but ……..?
theres nothing there.
