Well, the blog is working with WP files in public_html. There were other files at root before I deleted everything – public_ftp and others – could this be what is causing function errors when I try to display pages? Thanks again

I had done a fresh install – copied the WP folder contents to my public_html folder, thought it would be ok. Any suggestions how to approach this very much appreciated

Sorry if I’m repeating an earlier question – an earlier post says a fresh install of wp to otherwise empty root directory will do the trick. If anyone can confirm this is right, I really appreciate it! Here is earlier post.

In reply to: How do I get to my admin page for the first time?I changed the WP location from subdirectory to root directory this afternoon by moving the files from website.com/blog/ to website.com/. Maybe this hosed something? Thanks again

In reply to: How do I get to my admin page for the first time?Here is what I found for how to get to it.. the admin folder.. but.. no index or default page to open this way. My blog main page doesn’t have a link to the admin page.
Administration panels (located at https://your-wordpress-url/wp-admin/) are where you control the behind-the-scenes operations of your site. Common to all of the panels is a heading which shows the name of your blog, a link to your blog’s main page, a link to Sign Out, and a link to your profile (My Profile}.
