  • Download the adhesive plugin:
    https://wp-plugins.net/plugin/Adhesive/

By using this plugin.. you can create a post and designate it as a sticky which will keep the post at the top of the index page.

I’ve played with this a little bit but not on different servers. I wanted to test the process of reinstalling WP via backups. In the process I backed up everything all the files and the database. I then wiped out everything… deleted the database and all the files from the server.

Then re-uploaded the entire directory containing my wp files and imported my database backup via PHP My Admin. Everything seemed to work just fine. When I uploaded the files I did not run the install or upgrade. With the database… it’s important that the db name, user name and password all stay the same as originally had at your old host. I have the process I used documented at:
    https://blog.sammyrusso.com/simple-maintenance-backup-everything/

Being that you are installing on a new server you might need to run the install and then import the database, but I’d try it without running the install first and see what how that works. As long as you have recent backups of everything you shouldn’t have problem and should take you less than hour.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks for the step-by-step instructions…. everything went smooth on the first run. As you work on the next version of mygallery may I suggest that when clicking on a thumb you get an intermediate sized pic… somewhere around 500 pixels or so (for the default kubrick template users). Then when you click on the intermediate you get the original opening in a new window.

you might also consider adding something in to allow users to post their own pics instead of just the admins.

Just a suggestion… thanks again for the plugin.
