Just install hitsniffer plugin for WordPress and enter your API code, it will automatically insert the code on every pages.
Do you use caching plugin? Probably you need to clean cache once you configured this.
If there is still problem, please reply again with your website URL so I can have a closer look.

Same as other wordpress plugins, this plugin obey standard structure and you should be abale easily install and then uninstall within wordpress admin.
If you are experiencing trouble when uninstall, it is possible that your web hosting file permission is changed for wp-content or plugins folder.

I am sure problem is not with hitsniffer plugin, it is safe and clean.
This can happen if your computer is infected, please do a full system scan with an updated antivirus.

You are wrong thinking it showing wrong stats.
Hit Sniffer use different technology to calculate visitors.
It can detect and track mobile phone visitors ( even old WAP Phones ) using classic IMG code method and modern browsers using Javascript, it can detect returning visitors very accurately by using both Cookie ( Client-Side ) and IP ( Server-side ) matching.
