In reply to: [Fashionistas] Add photo slider to home pageaHey Christine!
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you! To get rid of my top nav bar I simply removed all items from the top menu except for my social share buttons. As for the photo slider, I used the Meta Slider plugin. Hope this helps!
Happy wending,
Sarah

My site is houseofwend.com, but I actually haven’t added a photo slider yet. However, it IS possible to have it appear on your home page. When I finalize it, it will look much like the one that appears on this site: loveitandmoveon.com

In reply to: [Fashionistas] Add photo slider to home pageaHey again,
I actually got it to work by adding the code to the parent theme. Not ideal, but it does work!

In reply to: [Fashionistas] Add photo slider to home pageaHi Paul!
Yes, I replaced the xxx with the id number, which is 1703. I found the shortcode, but ran into problems when adding it to the header.php file.
I created a child theme via a plugin, but when I added the code my site crashed. I then tried using a different child theme plugin, but it only allows for changes to be made to the style sheet, not php files.
So now I need to enable php file editing in my child theme, but I’m unsure of exactly how to do that. And I’m nervous my site may crash again if I just add the code to the parent theme.
Any guidance would be MUCH appreciated! Thank you!

In reply to: [Fashionistas] Add photo slider to home pageaHi paulwpxp,
I did as you said (copied the header.php to my child theme editor and added the code to the bottom), but the slider still will not appear on my home page. Any suggestions?!
Thank you!

Thanks for the tip! I made the change…it’s not perfect, but it’s definitely better!
Success! Thanks so much!
