I have written some custom PHP code to hide the post grid and layouts CPTs, so it’s not currently an issue on this particular site, but I was hoping there was a way in the settings of the plugin somewhere or the individual grid settings etc to disable them showing up in search queries?

OK! Solution found! apparently it is an issue with WP Engine hosting, by default they disable the random query… but you can re-enable it… from the wordpress dashboard, go to WP Engine -> Site Settings -> Advanced Configuration -> Random Order, drop that option down and tick the box to allow it. I’ve copied the site to a dev environment and created a new post grid of the “Services” CPT. The only settings I adjusted was query = random, here is the test link for you:

Hi @azizulraju ok here’s a list of what I’ve done so far to troubleshoot:

• Disabled all other plugins
• disabled server cache
• disabled local cache
• disabled caching plugin
• Activated default wordpress theme
• Removed any custom code or custom css
• changed “random” option in query settings to other options (all other options seem to work as expected, but when I switch back to random, it defaults to date order again)

With all these testing variables done in various combinations, no matter which I try, the “random” option still does not work. It only will ever pull the posts in date order when “random” is selected. Any other thoughts?

Ok so it appears to be a conflict with this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/testimonial-free/ – just for future reference. If I disable that plugin, the gallery shows as updated. If I re-enable that plugin, the gallery reverts back to the old version again. I will be removing that plugin and rebuilding the testimonial slider in a different tool. Thanks!

Ok @imagely I may have spoke too soon. The /?1 method works temporarily, but as soon as I remove it from the URL and refresh the page, the gallery reverts back again to the old photos and new ones are missing again…

Very strange. I have again tried flushing every cache I can think of but still happening. Any other thoughts?

@imagely oh man the /?1 worked like magic, THANK YOU that’s a great trick to add to the toolbox. I swear I had tried flushing the cache in about a dozen different ways and it just refused to refresh the album.

Ok so if I disabled the ajax search and use the page load/button submit version, it works. So I’ll do that for now instead, but yes please let us know when the ajax versions is fixed, that’s a much nicer interface. thanks!

@imagely I have actually already edited that exact setting in order to get the thumbnail editor working, which is usually a problem in bitnami in general, so I always have to do this for any sites hosted on AWS Lightsail.

I’ve already tested this file both with and without the adjustment. The adjustment fixes the thumbnail editor, but the error still persists in the rest of the admin panel. Any other ideas?
