Hey there, you could do the above to remove the plus sign, but if you want to remove all comments, I like the Disable Comments plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/disable-comments/

I tested it with the Spun theme and disabling comments using this plugin removes the plus sign and removes the comment functionality.

Marking this as resolved — this is an issue with the theme and not the plugin. Any custom template that uses query_posts(); will cause the plugin not to display the image. Remove the query_posts();, however, and it works very well.

James, is there any quirk with the plugin that makes it break on any page that uses wp_query(); or query_posts();? Because that’s what the pages not working on my site have in common…

Thanks, James! I removed the do_shortcode method in header.php in favor of using the shortcode in the page content, and Global is unchecked in the settings.

Thanks for having a look. I commented out the do_shortcode in the header and left the shortcode in the page content for my homepage, and it’s still not working even after trying to turn off the global option. I tried removing the shortcode in the page content and uncommenting the do_shortcode in the header, and no luck.

I checked the code being generated, and it is firing the jQuery, it’s just not displaying the photo.
