Hi, fresatomica. The problem isn’t that I don’t want notified when my site has issues. The problem is I’ve gotten tons of false alarms, but the one time my site was actually down, I was not notified.

The other problem, of course, would be if JetPack was how the file in question got onto my site. According to a www.ads-software.com support forum post I can’t find now, that’s where it came from.

    Here’s the site. https://turtleduckpress.com/wordpress/

Here is the text of the errors.

Warning: include_once(/home1/sporker1/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wp-super-cache/wp-cache-phase1.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home1/sporker1/public_html/wordpress/wp-content/advanced-cache.php on line 14

That’s very interesting, James Huff, considering I don’t have WP Super Cache or any other caching plugins installed, let alone active. Anti-Spam Bee, Cryout Serious Theme Settings, JetPack, WP Broken Link Status Checker, are the only plugins.

    thanks for this!

Will the option be in future updates, or should I make sure to bookmark this page so I can come back and fix it?

    love the theme!

I started getting this issue today. I’m using 0.9.2.11 on WordPress 3.5.1. I’ve used W3 Total Cache happily for years–so glad to see you’re on the bug. I’m not confident in among the code, so I’ve deactivated the plugin until there’s a fix.

I downloaded and uploaded to upgrade, and I seem to have fixed this though I’m not sure how. I expect it will come back as before, but if so I’ll come ask for help again.

I tried every single thing anyone suggested, and the only one that worked was this–deactivate all the plugins.

I got rid of a few that I’d stopped using, got rid of super-cache, still no help, so I got rid of Flexo Archives and Broken Link Checker, and that seems to have done it.

For now. What happens with the next upgrade?

Not sure how it got messed up, but by commenting out super-cache and then re-installing a missing folder, I got this cleared up. Thanks, Scribs, if you ever see this!

Hi. I’m having a similar issue. This is the message in the error log:

    [17-Jul-2010 16:23:48] PHP Fatal error: require() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required '/home2/marshall/public_html/sargemarcori/wordpress/wp-includes/default-constants.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home2/marshall/public_html/sargemarcori/wordpress/wp-settings.php on line 20

I manually upgraded to 3.0 and everything was fine. I’d run the site upgrade and logged in, but then I tried to fix that fatal memory error by getting rid of the Super Cache plug-in because nothing else was working to get rid of it. I messed things up by deleting the plug-in through FTP when I couldn’t get to it in the admin. Since then both my admin and site at https://www.sargemarcori.com have been blank. I tried uploading the file in the error message again, and when that didn’t work I tried deleting wp-admin and wp-includes and uploading them again.

I did try it with a fresh download of 3.0. I’m using Filezilla 3.3.3 if that matters, on Vista OS. I can get to the ftp information by going to ftp:// in my browser, but I don’t know what to look for to figure out what I screwed up.

Also though I have tried to go to the site several times today, the last entry in the error log is over five hours old.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Every dang time. I thought it was NoScript, but this time I remembered to check and it wasn’t.

I’m using Firefox 3.5.7. My OS is Vista and my version of WordPress is 2.9.1. I’m posting in my secondary account, not the admin one.

It’s not just when I try to publish, either. It does it when I just try to save. After it “fails” I go to drafts and it’s there and I can publish it.

No, don’t do that. Just remove them from the left sidebar. You actually want to get out of the theme options and go to Widgets and do it there, unless I’m misunderstanding you.

I simply took off all the check marks for pages on which to show the sidebar I didn’t want.

Good lord, is that the only way–about five steps, and one at a time? I have over a thousand posts.

I looked for a free blog that WOULD accept my import then let me translate it, but I didn’t find it. Anyone else have any ideas?
