BTW – I am running Heiro 1.2 in a child theme. There was no option for a read more link after the excerpts. I had to do that manually.

I resolved the problem by examining all the colors in the child theme, determining what colors were variations of the red, ie #ff2828 and #sb2121 and changed them all to the color I wanted, #994799. This worked. I have more questions and will start a separate thread. Thanks for your reply, awanrmb.

It’s the last item in the dashboard, under “settings”.

There may be many ways to do it, but what I did was created a logo that included the text as a jpg (or png), and replaced the whole thing, so my logo isn’t text, but an image. Some may argue it isn’t good for seo, but I think it really doesn’t matter. Branding is important too.
You do this from the WP dashboard, under Theme Options > General Options

I was able to do it via ftp and got in. Now, sigh – I get this error when trying to update. Do you know what this means?

I like the tag line I had for SEO purpose, but want a different message on the visual, so I didn’t want to change it in the theme settings.

Since the text that has shown up under the logo has come from my the tagline I entered initially in Appearance>Themes>Manage Themes>Customize>Site Title & Tagline section of this WP Theme, am I to assume I can over ride that if I want it to say something else, yet still retain the tagline in the background? And I can use the code I was using?

It worked like a charm. It was difficult to find step-by-step info like this to even help me after I made the child. I didn’t know what files to manipulate, if I had to put all or just the part I was changing, yada, yada. I had already created the folder and the first style.css, but didn’t know where to take it from there.

This really stinks, but I’m glad there’s a work around. I thought I was going crazy. My images are not all showing full size either. Now I’m off to re-size them all. Good times.
