Thanks @eclev91 for the link! I’ve double-checked the key permissions/template and they seem to match those mentioned in the guide, so it looks like a plugin problem after all; plus, found some more similar reports on GitHub.

You can use this child theme template instead, it’s been prepared specifically for Bento

I can see the forms on both the staging and the live versions – could it still be connected to caching? I’d really recommend flushing all plugin caches, as well as your browser cache, and deactivating the caching plugins until the development is over – otherwise weird artifacts and errors can persist longer than one would want them to ??

I recommended that thread as a potential solution because Elementor is using the same color picker as Bento, which seems to be the root of the problem ??

To be clear, though – is the error appearing when you click on “Edit Page” at the top of the home page, or in the “Edit Theme” section, or both?

Hello @lauramay7 , thank you for reporting! The issue with the syntax has been corrected in Bento 2.5 – could you please tell me the exact steps for reproducing the issue you’ve described in the initial post?

P.S. your website seems to be using a caching/minifying plugin – just in case, have you cleared the cache(s)?

Seeing the specific message will help me troubleshoot more effectively! Upgrading PHP would do only good in any case ?? but you can enable the debug version first and tell me if you see any specific messages after refreshing the website in the browser – given the error message I will be able to tell more precisely whether it is a PHP version issue, and whether it’s connected with Bento.

Bento’s 2.5 update specifically targeted the jQuery error generated by the preloader – which means that if it persists after updating the theme to the latest version, it might be something else as well.

@coopnyc and @bruno_w could you please tell me the URL of your websites? Seeing the actual JS error messages will help me fix it quicker!

Hello Andrew, thank you for reporting this one! We’ve corrected the source of the issue (unescaped special character in a selector in one of the JS files), and submitted a theme update (ver. 2.5) together with other minor corrections and additions. It should be available within several hours!

Hey Tracy, I’ve tried viewing the website in various browsers and there seems to be no difference on my machine. Has the issue been resolved in the meantime, or maybe I’m just not looking hard enough?

In case the site still looks different for you in Chrome as compared to Firefox, the first thing I recommend doing is clearing the browsers’ caches as well as purging the cache of the caching plugin, if you’re using something like W3 Total Cache.
