That’s not the reason. I checked the port 443 – it is open. Also, the images were being imported without problems until some time this week. This is a shared server, the ports don’t open or close randomly here.
The image URL come in the response from FB comes in the following form: https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t31.0-8/q81/s720x720/24313346_1951490051759594_7079443727506767124_o.jpg?oh=0619dd6370d0a1eab423baae2a408fa2&oe=5AD67BF7. If you try to supply it as an argument to download_url() – you will see the same error I’m seeing. I’m pretty sure this happens in any server.
