    I’ve resaved permalinks and I’ve manually updated, which as far as I can tell are the only items I missed on that list.

    Unfortunately, neither worked. I’m still receiving the same error.

    Hello,

    I’ve been doing more research into this. I tried to use WordPress’s repair function. It found some errors in the database and said that it was not able to repair them. Here they are:

    wp_options: 2 clients are using or haven’t closed the table properly

    And I also tried the Repair and Optimization tool as well and here’s what came up:

    The wp_users table is okay.
    The wp_users table is already optimized.

    The wp_usermeta table is okay.
    The wp_usermeta table is already optimized.

    The wp_posts table is okay.

    There seem to be errors here as well but then it doesn’t list them…

    Anyone have any idea how to fix this? I have no idea what all of this means. Thanks!

    Ok, well I haven’t necessarily found a fix, but I found a way to at least access the dashboard and display the images.

    In the sites’ settings, the URLs were *.bookstacked.com. I changed them to reflect the individual domains. So instead of 5thwave.bookstacked.com, the settings now list it as 5thwave.net. So now it’s no longer taking me to 5thwave.bookstacked.com/wp-admin, but 5thwave.net/wp-admin. And it works! I just had to reset the permalinks and all the pages and posts are coming up properly.

    Some of the images are still messed up because they’re trying to load 5thwave.bookstacked.com/…, so I’ll just use a search and replace plugin to fix that.

    With that said, the subdomains still aren’t loading properly. I have one sub-site that doesn’t use a domain name, but a subdomain, so I can’t use this trick to fix it. :/

    Again, if anyone knows anything, help would be awesome! I’ll be contacting my host shortly to see if it’s something on their end…

    I think I got it to work. I went to the permalinks and just changed the option and saved it. Seems to work now! I guess the permalinks just needed to reset?

    Thanks again for the response.

    If I end up leaving my host, I may look into SiteGround. Their pricing is similar to what I’m paying now.

    I realized that the one place I didn’t look was in the main home directory (that contains the public_html directory). I looked in the hidden .cpanel directory and found some logs of FTP uploads. These are files I didn’t upload myself. Things like BOA.zip and even the cr.zip that I mentioned earlier. Some date back to last June! The latest is Jan 14. Here’s what those logs say:

    <fileupload size=”131640″>
    <file name=”boa.zip” tmpfile=”/home/******/tmp/Cpanel_Form_file.upload.MjdzlAXLdeh5qEtI”>
    <progress bytes=”130500″ bps=”45700.24″></progress>
    <progress filesize=”130498″ complete=”1″></progress>
    </file>
    </fileupload>

    I’m guessing these were done via FTP. I’m going to look more. If all of this happened through FTP and not WordPress. If this is the case, the hacked file could very well not be in my wordpress installations but maybe somewhere in the home directory. I know it’s not in public_html because, like I said, I’ve already cleared it. If I can’t find anything, I may just ask my host to reset my account and I’ll manually reinstall everything bit by bit.

    Problem is, how did they get into my site via FTP in the first place? How do I stop them from doing it again? I’ve changed my password already, but I don’t want this to happen again.

    Thanks for your responses.

    I’ve contacted my host again. I’m with Downtown Host. I’m asking them to check server logs and see if the redirects come up there.

    I know that there was a file uploaded at one point, but like I said, I found them and deleted them. Even after, I wiped everything and started new.

    Is it possible that they could hack a SQL database? I wouldn’t know where to start if that was true…

    Thank you! That fixed it! ??
