We are aware of this and we’ve found the conflict. We are looking deeper to understand whether we have done something wrong or thre’s something wrong with Activity Plus. We have a similar issue here: https://github.com/rtCamp/buddypress-media/issues/88

We haven’t added that yet. 2.4 happened to be a complete code overhaul. As the plugin evolves and the users increase, we have to shift our plans a bit. The plans evolve along with the plugin.

We’ll still do this, but as of now, this requires jQuery. Any jQuery we use, can conflict with a lot of poorly made themes. So, we’ve held this back till BuddyPress updates to 1.7. It promises new and better theming for BuddyPress that will work with any WordPress theme. That’s when it makes sense to play with the UI.

So, we’d all have to wait till BuddyPress 1.7 and then some more.

We will continue the tracking and fixing there. Closing this.

BuddyPress has upgraded to 1.6.3 and WordPress changed a couple of things with 3.5 (which is why BuddyPress moved from 1.6.1). We will have to keep evolving.

Supporting legacy versions will bloat the code too much.

.mov is not supported by a lot of browsers. Hence, the player cannot play it. If it can’t be played, why upload it. The format supported is .mp4. This is clearly mentioned, everywhere on the plugin.

As for the images, the image must be originally rotated (this is stored in the exif data). A smart phone can detect this and rotate in reverse, so you never have to care. BuddyPress Media lacks this intelligence. It just uploads an image, as it is!

Converting a .mov on upload to a widely supported .mp4 is beyond this plugin or WordPress. For that, we’ve created a premium addon, https://rtcamp.com/store/buddypress-media-ffmpeg-converter/
