IMO: everything looks and works fantastic! The only thing I could say is slow down your “breaking news” scroller. Maybe to 1 every 5 seconds.

Hell YES! I’ve used WP as a CMS on dozens of sites. It works very well…especially with 2.0’s ability to have custom templates for each page/section/whatever. I know Textpattern had it before, but with this advent…and WP’s easy customizations…it’s far outstripped TP’s abilities.

It allows you to do a “thumbnail” image (to go on your front page) while uploading the original. Take a lot of hassle out of the manual work.

@drmike – I bumped up the brightness on the tagline so that it’s more readable now. Thanks for the heads up. My monitors are pretty bright, so I didn’t realize it was *that* dark.

@snipeseye – Yeah. I struggled with that and just decided to go with Arial, like the text on the site. I’ll probably change it to something else when I decide to really update the theme.

As for the clickable header: try using a 1×1 transparent gif in the actual header div (in which you have the header as a background image). Just set the gif to be the same height and width as the header graphic and link it. I’ve done it with other sites before and it works well.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll go in a few minutes and brighten up the tagline text in a few. That should help. ?? I was unsure about going with the light on dark color scheme, but the more I messed with it, the more I liked it…especially with the preponderance of super bright/pastel “Web 2.0” color schemes out there.

There’s actually a “texas barbecue” place open now in Chinatown that I’m going to try out next Friday. I’ll let you know how it is. ??

Thanks! That header is actually 11 different background graphics that are randomly rotated with a simple php script and css. ??

bmg: That was my exact intention. I wanted the site to look like a regular site and not like a blog, even though it’s using what is basically blog software. It’s an example of what you can do with templates. My next WP project will be even farther out there with the templating. ??

Yeah, that’s the FAlbum plugin… the problem is that I don’t think it works with Flickr *public group* photosets… only photosets from individual accounts.

I need something that pulls in photos from a Flickr public group.
