I got you now. I have been pullin out the hair that i have left looking all over for this code. Thanks

so you are saying to overwrite this section of code?

    the_tags('Tags: ', ', ', '<br />');

Am i looking at WP files or theme files to change this?

    Thread Starter Mezloh

    (@sayno2odor)

or is it in the functions file

    Thread Starter Mezloh

    (@sayno2odor)

Coopersita, Ok, I see that. What include file is that in.

“post” meta tags, “post” tags they are both the same to me. If that makes it any better. But thanks for the suggestion. However, I do know the difference between what you are implying.

I already looked at the post you suggested 3 times didn’t help each time HAHA!

Which is my reason for pasting in the code so if someone that can help they can re-paste the code with a suggested fix.

Or do I need to change the parameters in one of the include files?

    anyone?

Totally my fault for that, I was up til 3am one morning adding the links and just because I got in the habit of adding the “/” in my image urls I accidently added the “/” in my url also.

    Thanks for pointing it out.

I had to laugh at myself for that one.

    @esmi

    Much appreciated, that worked beautifully.

Would you have a minute to look at my page in the w3 validator for a quick sec. thebalanceyouneed[dot]com

Let me know if you see what the problem is at first glance I can’t find a problem causing everything to throw an error. I know it has to be something simple but my eyes and brain are not catching it.

I have tried to re-save the urls with & in them but wordpress is stripping it back out to just read &.

The others are throwing me for a loop.

There is only 20 errors and they are all related to each other

in the html editor if you delete the rel=attachment and then overwrite the image url with your link url and then save it everything works like a charm.

Too bad this problem exists in these newer versions of WP, I hope they fix this in future updates.

BTW that plugin looks like it will work perfectly, especially after I optimize and repost everything.

The previous wanna be webmaster had no clue about WordPress or SEO and I think I will be able to cover for his inexperience very easily with this.

Thanks for the recommendation of this plugin!!!

I would have done it that way but the blog was so jacked up I basically had to reconfigure everything.

There was no thought put into anything at all, no keyword research, no tags. Each post was added to every category.(about 150 categories in all)

I wanted to start from scratch but I preserved as much as I could.

Now I will drip feed the re-posts fully optimized the correct way. But for all the inbound links that are out the in the SERPs and social sites I want to make sure they at least go to the index page and not chase visitors away with 404 errors.

The only way I was able to get around this problem is to delete the a rel=”attachment wp-att-6034″ and then overwrite the image url with my external link in the html editor.

I was having the exact same problems as everyone else in this thread with the external urls reverting back to the image url when saving.

I was really surprised to see this problem pop up with the newest version of wordpress.

External linking in images is such a common practice. I have uploaded banners and images extensively in posts and pages the past 5 years and this is the first time it has ever been a problem.

I am just glad I got my external links to work, I hope all of you get your issues worked out!

Just to be clear would what exactly would I add in my htaccess file that will automatically redirect everything to the index page in case of a 404 error.

    Or
can you recommend a decent plugin that will work or one that you have used successfully in the past. There is so many plugins out there and I don’t want to use something that is going to create more problems.

Thanks for responding, for a minute there I thought my post was going to get buried and be an orphan.

Right now in my htaccess I just have the rewrite rules for permalinks

Update: I contacted Hostgator and they fixed the problem. It was a mod-security issue and they tweaked a couple of rules and all of my thumbnails showed up again.

I have followed Lester’s instructions and I still can’t get rid of the warning.

I have the htaccess folder where it is supposed to be and i have the permissions set properly, it won’t go away unless I deactivate the plugin.

So until there is a legit fix I will have to put this on the backburner, that’s too bad because I use just about every one of Lester’s plugins.

I have tried to uninstall it 2 times and ftp it back again with no luck so I know it isn’t anything I am doing wrong.
