You are right, since Tesla Themes only updates the plugins in its themes so often vs getting it from the developer themselves.

I suppose the new age of cyber criminals posing as the good guys will take a while to catch on to… until then I can’t support it.

Thanks for clarifying and providing a solution. We have since moved on to another lightbox plugin but may return if this solves our issues. Marked as resolve for now.

Make sure the setting “Automatically close comments on articles older than __ days” is not checked.

Under Settings -> Discussion.

if that is not the problem, then hopefully someone else can provide a working solution.

Just another note, I am using Chrome as my browser.

I should have added that this plugin is broke in general with this theme. When you click a photo, it just comes up with a black screen and then does not allow you to exit the full screen.

I will also say that you need to make sure Settings -> Discussion Settings -> “Allow people to post comments on new articles ” has the check box. For some reason I didn’t, not sure when that was changed or how.

edit – I want to note that the comments were disabled 5/16. So wonder if that is the same for anyone else.

I’m curious as to why this happened too. I noticed that the check box under discussion had the “allow comments” turned off. I had to make sure the check box is checked. Now I am seeing how many posts have comments turned off. Doesn’t make sense why this happened as discussion wasn’t even enabled in my screen options.

Slider revolution is included with Tesla Themes, which means you don’t get support with the plugin unless you purchase their license directly. I would, but since they don’t seem to care that there may be something wrong for a product used by many people that do pay for it, I’m not. When I brought this up to them, they wanted to state it was another plugin causing this and that I should be using Wordfence (when I made it clear that I do use it).

I have not seen any code lurking in the tmp folders since clearing it but for Slider Revolution to not at least ask for the code I gathered to at least give me a clearer peace of mind, I would have then thought differently about them as a developer. Them not being concerned about any security vulnerabilities bothers me.

I recently added a page id to “Load JS and CSS files on” and I suppose I was using the wrong ID, took it out, saved changes, and now it works again (with the recent EM 5.6.3). Marking this as resolved. Thanks.

I tried the latest update to EM and FullCalendar still doesn’t work. Though that can easily be the fault of the theme or another plugin, I do plan on updating the theme. Any where I can email the link, I prefer not to link here. Thanks.

edit – the calendar appears to be working fine on another website that I haven’t used the FullCalendar in a while, which is using a old theme, so my problem is site specific.

edit 2 – well partially, calendar works but events aren’t showing up. I am investigating to see what I haven’t ticked in the settings for it to work.

.htaccess files only matter on apache servers as far as I know but it is best to not allow access to these files or any others that are meant for the server. Anything to keep a hacker from snooping. Just depends on what information the files contain.

Just to add, I also did try switching themes to the twentysixteen theme and same results.

Even with changing the permissions from 644 to 640 , .user.ini is still downloading for me on 11 sites out of 12. On a nginx server.

edit – Being an amateur with sysadmin in general, I took out my auto_prepend_file lines from the php.ini and now the .user.ini file isn’t downloading anymore (along with making sure I have the line in my /etc/nginx/include/php file for denying access to files with a period at the beginning). I still need to know if I need to have more then one wordfence-waf.php file referenced or not if running multiple sites, and if so, how do I link them properly.

So far I haven’t seen the the dialogs pop up anymore about firewall configuration, though I still have multiple auto_prepend_file lines in my php.ini . You are welcome, thank you.

I’ve switched themes, same problem (with both the blank page, and FullCalendar not working. Yes I switched and did not use a plugin to preview different themes). These are the plugins that have been recently updated within this month. I know before the 4.5 WordPress update, FullCalendar was working as well.

All of which I have deactivated (including Events Manager itself, then activating after), I have removed social networks auto poster since it wasn’t being used. It made no difference, the problem still exists.
