Really appreciate the code! But I’m wondering if manually editing user records made this not work?

In about 75% of the user records we manually changed a:1:{i:0;s:4:”Male”;} to “Male” and a:1:{i:0;s:6:”Female”;} to “Female“. For the newest 25% of the user records, your code snippet did not return only “Male” and “Female” but instead it output the entire a:1:{i:0;s:4:”Male”;} and a:1:{i:0;s:6:”Female”;} again.

    The error is:

Warning: reset() expects parameter 1 to be array

string given in /home/myserverusername/public_html/wp-content/uploads/wpallexport/functions.php on line 5

    Any guidance or ideas?

Not to “pile on”, but I am also experiencing issues with PHP 7.1.8 installed on my server. I’ve upgraded all but one of my 28 sites to PHP 7 and FileAway is one of a handful of plugins with issues so need to revert back to 5.6.30 on my one, main site using FileAway.

For example, on one page pulling up 400 MP3s of past shows we’ve done, the table still works but it won’t load either the ‘compact’ or ‘extended’ values so a visitor can only download each file. Not terribly convenient.

Anything you can do to address this would be awesome.

So davidedezma, could you share with us how you solved it?

Wanted to publicly thank you, Maria, for all of your assistance and to the developer who fixed this error. Glad to see it will make it in to the next update too!

I am so appreciative that I am now going to make a donation. Again, thank you!

Sorry Maria. Using PHP 7.1.4 as FastCGI used by Apache.

Let me know if you need anything else and thanks for digging in to the issue.

    Maria,

Am using 1.0.6 current version. Usually a plugin conflict means that there is a consistent, across-the-board rendering issue of some kind but this one is intermittent.

So far we have discovered roughly 50 records out of hundreds that don’t render. All others do just fine. The ONLY change since this occurred was changing to PHP 7 from 5.6.

    Any other ideas?

    Hello Maria,

After extensive testing with a cloned version of our most important website that uses WP-CRM, we enabled PHP 7.x.

Turns out we may have been premature since a strange anomaly has appeared: when clicking on any given person we find that most load, but about a dozen do not. When clicking on one of these few users a blank screen appears.

I’ve cleared all caches. Do you have any other suggestions?

Jeremy — A big “thank you” for your cogent and detailed response. It means a lot as I use WordPress and train others on how to leverage their sites/blogs in fundamental ways.

Some view Jetpack as bloat but I don’t. There are too many great features to use and its connection to Automattic means security for those features and the addition of others.

    Keep up the great work.

    Hey Jeremy,

Just did a quick search for **jetpack “published an article on WordPress”** since, like Richard Foley originally stated, I want to change the representation in the title.

First off, I’m a huge fan of Publicize and it is used on most of the nearly 300 sites we’ve built on WordPress over the last several years. It’s made life so much easier for clients (and me) and you’ve truly built a fabulous seamless integration with multiple social media sites.

All that said, as Richard pointed out, “I did NOT publish any article on WordPress.com.” and “Neither is there any need for this, other social media plugin sharers (like blog2social and SNAP), manage to post to Facebook with the blog user name (as would be expected), and JetPack posts to Twitter just fine.” and I concur with that assessment.

    a) You could have this as the default string as App Attribution for the plugin: “Steve Borsch published an article using WordPress” and have the WP link go to www.ads-software.com instead of .com which would be more acceptable to those of us who self-host (Note: You could have a WordPress.com published article use the .com link and a self-hosted publish link to .org). Having it go to .com is just confusing.

Also, why are their two links to WordPress in the output? one of my site's published articles on Facebook

    b) Expecting non-developers connecting Jetpack to their self-hosted sites to use Publicize and instead use a tool like SNAP, is like recommending they use a bazooka to kill an ant.

    ———————–

I appreciate the limitations App Attribution entails but I’ll wager more clever minds than mine could come up with a method that would allow more control for us and inadvertent clicking on a link that would take a Facebook reader to the .com site where they would obviously wonder where the heck they landed!

I have exactly the same question as you, WordDug. While it is just an error and not a *fatal* error, it will be fatal at some point since it’s deprecated.

PERFECT Greg. Thank you! Looks really good now.

Found a solution after Googling for awhile on some error strings I was receiving (specifically “Warning: Division by zero in”) and one guy’s answer made me do a head-slap and try it too: deactivate and reactivate the plugin.

The Rating Form then reappeared so all is good. (But what the heck happened is still a question…but for another day perhaps).

After saying I was not interested in paying that nearly four figure amount, their development project person responded with:

“Unfortunately, this amount is the a starting point for us. I saw that there was another user who wanted this functionality, you could go half and half with him.

At the moment we try not to take small projects like this. We hope for your understanding.”

    My response was:

“I do understand but don’t think you do: ANY business has multiple people interacting with the website and WP-CRM is only useful if multiple roles can access its functionality.

Example: I am our company’s website administrator. Janice is our WooCommerce Shop Manager and she also manages all website users as well as our user and prospect databases.

I do NOT want to make Janice an administrator on the website. She is not technically capable, there are an overwhelming number of menus that load (which have nothing to do with her job nor does she have to see them) and I also do not want her in doing things on the website she should not.

We have two other roles who also need to manage users and I also do NOT want to make them administrators and I DO NOT HAVE TIME PERSONALLY TO TAKE ALL THEIR REQUESTS AND PERFORM USER MANAGEMENT.

That is why this should NOT be a custom-coding job but rather built-in to the plugin.”

    ———————————-

This “admin only” capability is so short-sighted that it would be funny if not going to create more work for us. It would be like WordPress having only ONE role (the admin) so everyone who authored a post, for example, could do whatever they wanted on the site.

So I’m going to rip out WP-CRM this week and replace it. The sad part is that we leveraged their custom fields and re-imported all user data with these fields.

Saldanha — I just pinged them about adding a non-admin user role to WP-CRM. Their response? It’s a “development project” and is approaching four figures. No thanks.

Hello MariaKravchenko – Like saldanha, it is VERY IMPORTANT to have other roles to have access to adding, editing or modifying user roles.

It is NOT useful AT ALL to have only admins manage users.

Is there a way around this limitation? I’ve now invested a few hours in using User Role Editor to try to figure out how to add wp-crm editing capability to the Editor role for one of my employees, but nothing works.
