Thank you for the suggestion and the code.

Using blur even helps us avoid extra http requests and it suits the user experience. Keyup is nice but more suitable for auto suggest kind of setup and not on username where people need o make their mind about their choice.

For the time being, we will be staying with blur but if there are more people interested in using keyup, we will add your code.

I just tested it on a ipad with ipad os 13.6.1 and it is playing fine with safari browser.

I am not sure what could be causing it? Can you please try clearing cache and retest the same?

Is there any chance you are using ubuntu and FFMPEG installed via snap?

The php script must be able to run ffmpeg and the ffmpeg binary needs permission to read/write in your wp-content/uploads directory.

Can you please check the video file directory for a log file and seee what error it is showing ?

I am able to see the issue now.
The problem is video encoding.

The video you are uploading from mobile is a .mov file which is not a web playable format. That’s why it is not opening the player.

The solution is to use a transcoder for converting it to h.264 encoding which can be played over web.
We have a free plugin(It needs FFMPEG installed on your server)

Please give it a try if you are on a VPS/Dedicated hosting.
