Just tried it in Chrome browser and it works fine – I was using Firefox previously.

I am having same problem as @commontate, I can’t create a new user. Recently updated to WordPress 5.7.1 running Executive Pro Theme theme, using Genesis 3.3.3. It was working before then.

The new user form looks normal except that the password field shows …… for the password and the hide button does not work. When I click “add new user” it throws an error:

“Error: Passwords don’t match. Please enter the same password in both password fields.”

There is only one field, so I cannot re-enter the password.

I have Autoptimize installed as well but I am not using it to minify.

I disabled minify and the navigation came back.

I disabled HTML minify – no nav still so re-enabled
I disabled JS minify – no nav still so re-enabled
I disabled CSS minify – nav came back

I’ve left CSS minify disabled for now so the site is still working.

That seems to fix the problem – thank you.

One thing – I looked at that checkbox again after setting it, saving and purging and it is no longer ticked. Is that correct ? (the problem is still fixed however).

The above is correct with WordPress 5.4.4

With WP 5.5.3 the problem still occurs with Yoast SEO de-activated or with Yoast SEO 14.6.

Hi,

I have a similar problem. I updated Yoast SEO plugin from 14.6 to 15.2.1 and the page settings tab and help tab at top of WP admin panel are obscured and drop downs don’t work and the WP editor is stuck in text mode and won’t switch to visual mode.

If I de-activate Yoast SEO plugin, it all works fine.

Rolled plugin back to 14.6 and it all works again.

Any idea ?

Having same problems with version 7.4.11 – Error when trying to activate. “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.”

I refreshed the browser and it appeared to activate but when I tried to run a scan it had another fatal error:

“[SEP 02 16:48:37] Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 88080384) (tried to allocate 335872 bytes) in {path-on-server}/public_html/wp-includes/Requests/Transport/cURL.php on line 484 There has been a critical error on your website”

The site was working fine previously with Wordfence so appears this version has a problem.

Have tried deleting and re-installing several times and clearing the database with your utility but still the same. I am seeing exactly the same on another identical site. If I delete Wordfence it all works fine with no errors.

FYI – I deactivated the 7.7.0 plugin in recovery mode but WordPress 5.2.2 would not let me actually delete it – said there was still a problem.

Presumably if I re-activated 7.7.0 in order to try and update it, it would just fail again so it needs to be deleted via ftp in order that you can install the new version (7.7.1).

You don’t need to downgrade. Run installer.php and when it shows the “STEP1” panel, open “options” at the bottom and change “Extraction” option to “PHP ZipArchive” and it should work.

I did some more tests and found the problem occurs with Duplicator 1.3.4 and 1.3.10 but not with 1.2.52.

Then I found the problem !

In STEP 1 options in 1.3.x the default extraction is now set to “Shell Exec Unzip” – change Extraction option to “PHP ZipArchive” and it works.

Should I raise a ticket for this ?
