I really look forward to working with you and the team and see if we can get golf to a place where it can become a hot seller! I’ll even run usability testing on it, gather feedback, etc as that’s where 1/2 my expertise lies and what I do for my daily job anyway. We use UserVoice as well so the feedback model is the same =)

Thanks and they did give me the refund, AFTER this review popped up. So thank you. I’m a very reasonable person, I’m patient, I understand software, design through development as I’ve been doing it for over 20 years now. Its not easy, there are always customers you can never satisfy, I’m not one of those – if 3-5 things get fixed/added – response times go up, I have no issues chaning my score. But this wasn’t meant as a “threat” to get things accomplished. It was an honest review at the time due to everything that has gone on. I appreciate your candid and honest response.

I did increase my PHP input vars limits as was suggested, but it didn’t work. I tried to enter scores from my Tuesday league the other night. After 3 attempts and 4 hours – I finally gave up. None of the auto calculating stuff worked. So I just forced it and wrote it all in by hand and did the math with a calculator manually. So it really is nothing more then a spreadsheet plugin at this point =( Its gonna be a long season for me.

Remember while I’m completely dissatisfied with the Golf app – I’m guessing other sports are great. I offered to work with development and donate hours of my time as I design software for a living and have intimate knowledge of running tournaments and leagues. That offer is still on the table!! I want this to be awesome, I want leagues/courses/etc everywhere to use this, I want to be able to promote it. My players LOVE the stats and being able to see it all live on the web. Tracking season stats is unheard of….. You tell us to use the feature request board, but nothing will ever be upvoted enough to get enough attention because of smaller % of people that use golf (or Disc Golf in my case) Which is why in the end I ultimately asked for the refund.

So – I want to make sure people reading this review understand that it is NOT about the core product which is probably awesome, it’s just the Golf part of it. And for smaller, easy leagues – it might even work. But for me, running weekly leagues (multiple pools), Tournaments from AM to PRO, Singles, doubles scoring (no support at all) constantly having no trust if the data will be saved, it if I will lose something, if something go wrong, if something won’t calculate properly – I can’t afford to lose that time.

Thanks for the response, and as I said – if needed I will help where I can in terms of proper layouts, procedures, how it’s all run in terms of Golf/Disc golf – heck you can even get another sport in your tags with Disc Golf with a few changes =)

AWESOME – I’ll try it today and report back, I found it incredibly odd, which is why I got so frustrated. Adding 59 golfers and their scores 18 holes each is super time consuming, loosing it so many times drove me insane. The fact that the other user reported it and it changed from 2.2.9 to now was fishy to me as well, but maybe his server got upgraded on him or something.

Roch – I have submitted tickets, and now I find out over 7 months ago other users have reported the same issue. I pin point the problem spending 10+ hours of my time entering and losing data to help narrow the issue down. I have sent multiple emails to support with little to no responses on anything. Prior to my purchase of Pro, all my questions were answered in a timely manner, after I purchased pro – crickets.

I know supporting the world is tough, but you are a paid app – the golf theme has been highly ignored, I offered my time and services to help work with the developers which normally is $100-$150 (I’m a UX professional) an hour if I’m consulting – but I want this app to be my go to, and I want others to be able to enjoy it, I want to blow people away with how My Disc Golf course is run and executed I want to be able to promote and recommend your product when people say this is amazing how did you do this!

The golf spin off is poorly supported, and feels like it was just tossed together to hopefully just get some sales. Like I said in another post, golf doesn’t bring in revenue so I feel it has little resources applied to it and is ignored – I get it.

Or maybe I’m completely wrong?? – I have held off writing my review of the company/products hoping I would see a turn around. Your post is the only response I’ve gotten in weeks.

I will give this one last shot before I move forward with reviews, and the experience I’ve had. I will do what you ask and create new topics on stuff that already has been discussed and ignored in the main forums and see what comes up.

I apologize for the cranky post, but I’ve been super patient, helpful, and have seen nothing in return.

Geo – I just posted about this in another thread as I have given up hope.

Bug happens when you enter the 33rd player, nothing saves, you can’t edit or update. Up to 32 players and you are fine.

Geo – question, do you ever do doubles? We run a weekly league and we alternate Dubs and Singles. Obv singles is easy – is there a hack or how do you add doubles scores?

Eric – I have given up and asked for my money back. They have zero care about the golf app. Soccer is where they make their money.

I found the exact cause of the bug, and it’s still not fixed or looked into.

It fails after you add the 33rd player. 32 players, no issues, you can update, edit, but as soon as you add the 33rd player, you can’t update and everything goes haywire.

Not only that simple things that is common place in golf/disc golf aren’t even thought of. Like:
– we run so many Doubles events, you can’t even add doubles scores.
– I should be able to save a course layout so I don’t have to add the default par for the course every time, I should just be able to select it.
– It should show player count when you are adding players

Here’s the original list I was keeping
Round Feedback
– Result list – add count to the left of player name. When added 50+ players I want to verify everyone is added by matching the number here to the number that registered.
○ We can also add this where you select the players just put the count Select Players: [50]
– Allow multi Select when selecting players. Selecting 50+ players is super cumbersome and tedious
– Bug – updating/change scores does not work after you make the first save in any manner (Preview, Save Draft, or Publish)
– Need to be able to asses stroke penalties. As a Tournament Director – after the rounds are complete, we sometimes need to asses penalty strokes to a player. It does not relate to the 18 holes played. I had 5 people submit and sign off on improper scores which relates in a 2 stoke penalty to their final score. (Added this in config, but would be nice stock for some users)
– When a round is published, it should always be sorted by best score. It should not be alphabetical
– Allow me to order my own columns. Score is more important than par. Should be Player/Score/Par/Outcome
– On the Details output screen, it shows the date the event was created in the system, it doesn’t show the date the event was held. This is a problem.
– On Results output screen – the bar line chart has zero meaning and is confusing. Allow me to hide it. I cannot because it is part of the scorecard, and I want that showing.
– When Listing par – scores should show “+7” when it says just “Par 7” – its hard for users to understand what it means. If they see +7 or -2 they instantly know I’m 7 over or 2 under par.

Import
– Provide an template for golf, there is only soccer. I can share a spreadsheet I use to enter for scores and totals if needed.

General Feedback
– When upgrading from regular to Pro – allow users to just enter the code/license to unlock features. Having to reinstall the full plugin is silly since it asks you for the key after you install ??
– No ability to adjust or change positions/position names. For Disc Golf we can have RHBH (Right hand back hand) RHFH (right and fore hand) LHBH, LHFH etc. There is still soccer related stuff in the golf theme that we can’t change.
– All tables should allow sorting ascending/descending

Settings
– Next to templates dropdown add a link for user to get/install prebuilt themes templates

Player Profile
– Results makes no sense, why would I want to see EVERYONE’s score from a round. Its my profile, I just want to see stuff about me.
Currently Player profile is not updating with any scores.

I have this same problem with the Brentwood Golf theme. How do I get someone to look at it, I spend weeks building the site, I cannot just switch themes. I saw the link above and will post there as well. But it’s not an idea, its an issue =(

I cannot disable plugins either as they are all pivotal to my site. I’m willing to work with whoever to turn them off and on to see which (if any) cause the issue, then test themes etc. .

I need this product as well. After jumping through hoops I saved my site.

Please help, I want to use this product!!
