Cool, Thanks (that would be so awesome).

It might be asking too much, however while you are at it could you sneak in that extra ‘region’ field in the next update (I noticed you did a DB update in the last release)?

Also having the widgets displaying results that match the short code filter would make everything work seamless for my shared multi-site project.

These features would also benefit so many other sites too allowing your plugin to be useful for so many other types of sites.

Thanks again for considering my feature requests in your next update!

Well I figured it using the document mentioned above.

I would like to suggest a link (when logged in as admin) for setting up the profile form somewhere near ‘Your profile is looking a little empty. Why not add some information’. This would help a lot for new WP admins that are not familiar with how this plugin works.

The ‘Menu Um Options in Menus’ is probably the proper answer, however I use:

    • Exclude Pages from Navigation Version 1.92 By Simon Wheatley
    • Provides a checkbox on the editing page which you can check to exclude pages from the primary navigation. IMPORTANT NOTE: This will remove the pages from any “consumer” side page listings, which may not be limited to your page navigation listings.
    • Simple Access Control Version 1.4 By Peter Wooster
    • Allows authors to restrict access to pages and posts to logged in/out users (this makes it so you can set it up for ‘Login’ showing up when logged out and ‘Logout’ showing up when logged in).

My goof, I must of been logged in as admin when I thought that I was logged in as my regular account. For some reason I did not see my admin bar at the top of the screen. :s

Re: ‘Now, as for using a |’

I would be looking for an ‘OR’ operation.

Ex: match “Thunder Bay” OR “ThunderBay” OR “T-Bay”.

The widgets that are used to access the directory listings (Simple Search, Categories, Recently Modified, Recently Added). Like my example: Categories widget shows 1 item in a given category, however when you go to that category it shows ‘No results’, should show 0 item when there are no match to the criteria of the listing shortcode.

The widgets results should match the criteria of the shortcode I use for that site. Ex: I have a site that should only show results for one city, when using the widgets on that site they should do the same.

Being able to use shortcodes in these widgets would allow the webmaster to tailor the widget to his/her needs quite nicely. ??

    Re: ‘These filters???’ – Yes

Basically be able to use the same filters that are used in your shortcode to define the results of the widgets (in the WP widget dashboard have a field in the widget module to insert the shortcode filters).

I had to switch it to the ‘Default Entry Card’ template, then deactivate and reactivate the cMap template, then it showed up in the template manager.

I think it would be more natural to use the existing region and city fields rather than have people select a ‘region category’ when entering an entry. People would be wondering why they have to select the ‘Province -> Region -> City’ then do it again for the real Province and City fields. I understand spelling, however why would you have it case sensitive?

What might be an idea is have the city field suggest in a drop down what city they are typing in (based on what is already in the database) like how Google does it.

I suggested a sub-region field, rather than creating a province/state field and using the region field for region, that is what I meant by less disruptive (it would be nice to fix it right, however I guess that would be even more work). I would still like that extra field (whatever you want to call it) so I can have ‘Province -> Region -> City’ structure for the site.

Thanks for your help in this configuration.

Run into a bit of a snag, it seems that the child site can’t find the ‘Connections cMap – Template’ network activated nor individually activated.

I don’t know about the other plug-in-add-ons however this is the first stumbling block.

Also I can’t use top level categories as a means to separate the results as I would have to duplicate all the sub-categories (not going to happen).

Could I use region and city to define the results? And if so, I would like to request that you add a sub-region field to your plug-in. I believe this would be the least disruptive feature request as ‘region’ already is reserved for province/state. Some of our provinces/territories are so large they have regions within them (ex: a business in the GTA area would not be anywhere near to service people in the NWO area).

Sorry I did not respond sooner, had another project come up and had to put this one aside for a little while.

‘CN_MULTISITE_ENABLED’ set to FALSE, I assume that this forces the child sites to use the same database as the main site in a WP multi-site install?

Could you add this to your developer discussion:

Removal of ‘(optional)’ from the ad submission form and replace with a ‘*’ for the required fields, then have something like ‘* = required’ at the bottom or top of the form. ‘(optional)’ takes too much valuable space when the site is viewed on a mobile device also it is more important to point out the required fields rather than the optional ones or just only point out the required fields that were missed after form submission.

Thanks again for this wonderful plug-in.

Re: “perhaps the ability for a gallery”

That sound like an idea for a plug-in add-on, I’m on the fence about allowing free multiple image upload as images takes up space. Maybe if this was developed into an add-on it could be setup so any extra images would have a fee attached.

Speaking of web space, might I suggest to the developer having ads that are expired or marked unavailable for more than a week to auto delete. I give a week just to give the advertiser a chance to renew or make available again (transaction did not go through).

Re: “We are looking to include a contact form to this as well”

Might I suggest integration with 3rd party plugins like Contact Form 7 and Slider CAPTCHA. Just like you suggest 3rd party plugins in your FAQ, why reinvent the wheel. And just like Contact Form 7, allowing short code insertion within your Ad Submission form allows the webmaster to choose their own CAPTCHA and you don’t have to develop one of your own.

    Thank you for your reply.

Just to clarify, This is possible in a WP multi-site install with each site to continue to appear to be their own sites however a search in for example the regional site would show results from itself and the local site but not the national site? A search in the national site would show results from itself and the local site and the regional site and a search in the local site would show results only from itself?

If so, I could move them together as a WP multi-site/network, however they are virtually empty I could start from scratch if it would be better.

I would like to request instruction on how to configure it to work this way.
