In reply to: WP multisite fails to create relevant MySQL tables on Jelastic@redubusi reidbusi https://profiles.www.ads-software.com/reidbusi
Could this be the same issue as https://core.trac.www.ads-software.com/ticket/32212 ?
My Jelastic provider’s customer support suggests I try installing MariaDB 5.5. instead of mySQL, but I’d prefer to know if this is really a mySQL issue?
Cheers
I found this and the advice on <iframe> YouTube embeds seems to work:

In reply to: [Bootstrap Basic] Recommended Way To Use BB: Starter Or Parent?Hello Okvee,
I also love the Bootstrap Basic theme. I just created a website with it on my development server, which I’m now about to replicate to the production server of my customer.
I’ve been used to creating child themes so as to prevent losing customization when parent themes get updated. Also this time, I routinely created a child theme from Bootstrap Basic.
Forgive my ignorance, but could you briefly explain the advantage of *not* creating a child theme? Or, why it is *not* necessary? Or even not advisable? If the risks are mitigated, it would certain save some time.
Many thanks,

In reply to: [Decode] everything is hugeScott, thanks so much for you prompt response.
In order to enable a responsive design grid, I had previously copy-pasted gridiculo.us css statements into my Decode child theme’s style.css file. Indeed, that’s where I now found and removed “font-size: 100%;” from the statement “body{font-size:100%;line-height:1.6875}”. Worked like a charm.
By the way – and I realize this a separate question -, what is your preferred responsive design grid for Decode?
Thanks again,

In reply to: [Decode] everything is hugeHi Scott, I *love* Decode. I do create child themes for every site. Just a minute ago I upgraded the Decode parent theme of http:/cluetail.com and everything got tiny.
Do I understand correctly that I would need to edit style.css in my child theme in order to fix this? If so, can you please explain exactly which edits are required?
Many thanks,

In reply to: Custom Post Type Templates not working@julien Vocat, you’re my hero, too! Still don’t understand tho why it didn’t work without flush_rewrite_rules();…
Thx @morrisjm. What plugin did you decide to go with?
After reading Alex King’s blog posts on Twitter Tools 3.0 beta 2 and Social 2.5, it seems to me that the best way to go about it is by installing Social first, which will serve as a platform “on top of which” the new Twitter Tools can run (without having to set up your own API calls to Twitter!).
I’ll probably wait for Twitter Tools 3.0 until it comes out of beta. But I must wonder what it will add to the already impressive feature list of Social.
@morrisjm, thanks a lot for hunting this down! Will be looking for other plugins for cross-posting between WP and Twitter.
FYI, given the radio silence here, I just posted this on Quora:
https://www.quora.com/WordPress-Plugins/Is-the-Twitter-Tools-plugin-for-WordPress-still-being-supported-If-it-is-is-there-a-fix-for-the-plugin-not-connecting-to-Twitter-see-linked-thread-belowI have a similar error. When I click on “connect to twitter” on config page /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=twitter-tools.php
After click URL is /wp-admin/options-general.php and my browser shows a blank page

In reply to: Twenty Eleven (copy) – make content wider for one col layout@alchymyth Thanks so much, that’s brilliant! Simple and elegant.

In reply to: Twenty Eleven (copy) – make content wider for one col layout@sixhours that was very useful, thank you!
Now, instead of changing ALL my pages to a wider content, I would only want to change ONE page to allow for a wider content area. (I want to present some tables on that page rather than text, and those tables look too cramped in the default content width).
Can I achieve this just with CSS, or should I create a special page template? If I created a special page template, how would I make the content area wider for just the pages created with that template?
Many thanks.
