Thanks for reporting back. I’m not surprised this is what they recommend, and I agree, the easier workaround is really just making them remember the name of the event they are looking for and using the search in the selection dropdown. It’s just a pain!

I will offer this option to my client, but I don’t think they will want to pay me to filter the dropdown if they can already do a search on it.

3. TEC 6.0.5 and TEC Pro 6.0.4
4. Custom Theme using ACF Pro Flexible Content Fields (we use this to allow my clients to select two events to feature on their home page).

I have the same problem. Thanks for reminding me that I could take the “event” type off the filter and have the field at least work, while being more cumbersome. I’m hoping another comment will get this post some attention. My client is also having trouble with the date fields – I’m just about to dig into that too.

I can’t explain it, but today I was able to get to my settings, the checkbox was already clicked, and once I saved that page again, the warning message went away. I don’t see anything strange in the debug log. Let me know if there’s something you would be looking for in there and I will take a look.

Good to know. There is an IT team who set up the hosting for us so I don’t have access to that. I will reach out to them as it’s probably what’s happening. However, I’m not sure they will be willing to turn it off – what are your thoughts? Can it work if there is caching?? I’m thinking maybe legal and IT will have to duke this one out!!

Those are the two pages – when I reopen after being blocked it lets me try again…is it really not doing that for you? Sometimes I try a shift-refresh to reload completely and it still makes me reenter the date.

Check your cookies on this and let me know what you see.

Ok the age_gate_failed cookie is updating correctly to add 10 years, but it still allows me to try again even without closing the browser tab. Why would that be? Then it also allows a try again if I close the window. Any ideas?

I did uncheck the “try again” checkbox.

Also, I use this on TWO pages – I could certainly argue with the legal department that they should enter their age in both places – but this should work across the site, right?

Hi Phil, it is if they fail. The legal department wants the age check to be harder to get around for kids (even though I think most kids know how to lie about their age!!). So they want the the checker to keep them from trying again…for some amount of time, with the only work around being that they clear their cookies.

For some reason I never get notified when there is a post in this chain. I stopped looking and didn’t realize there was more activity. Our site is still broken and we can’t use the plugin in it’s most recent version. I found our original download of the plugin (1.0.9) and installed it and it worked…so something in your new code is not working – the theme, other plugins, are not to blame. Please let me know if you resolve this, until then we won’t be installing a new version.

@ryanr14 and @conschneider did you see my other posts? My client has had to switch to paypal and would very much like to go back to using Square.

1. I coded the custom theme a few years ago, we’ve not updated it and didn’t have any issues until a few weeks ago. I am not sure if a plugin or WordPress updated without my knowledge (sometimes the host updates things and my clients do also, but I don’t think they did, but it’s possible – we did update everything once the trouble started thinking it would fix things). The theme hasn’t changed.
2. The only woocommerce file I overwrite in the theme is single-product.php. Is it possible that’s not passing something important to the cart? But why would that suddenly break the site since we’ve not changed it?
