In reply to: [Compare Products for WooCommerce] Have to re-enter all of the attribute infoHey! Wow! Thanks for all of the responses! Very cool how this works!
Jan Dembowski & corvusmile…
I really don’t understand why people ask questions here & give bad rating here… Can’t they see the support forum?
Apparently you did not read my review. I did write to the support forum: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/dont-understand-why-i-have-to-enter-attributes-twice?replies=1. That was after reviewing the author’s instructions many times and spending several hours trying to get the plugin to work in a way that seemed helpful.
In my question on the forum I was very happy to pay for an upgrade if that’s what it took to get the issue resolved, but, indeed, the question has still not been responded to…after 7 months. It’s not like there are a million support threads to resolve…I found mine on the first page. And if there is another support forum that is referenced anywhere in the plugin notes, I’m sure I asked the same question there as well.
To be frank, I think, surely they are not any kinds of developers.
You’re right, I am not any “kinds” of developer. If I was a developer, I’d write my own code. Originally, I was a user trying to find out how the plugin works. Then I became a user telling others about my experience.
There is a real undercurrent of people who seem to think that they can somehow coerce an author by giving a 1 star review.
Are there really people out there that think that? How sad.
I absolutely was not trying to get the developer to respond. I seriously was trying to help anyone else who was thinking about using the plugin. Since my support question was not answered, I had no other information than to believe that that’s how the plugin worked, so, 1 star. If that’s the way it works, it’s no good to me, I’ll tell others so that they don’t waste their time.
Funny though, by getting all of these responses from my 1 star review and not to my support thread, maybe you really can only get responses by posting a 1 star review, though of course, they have not been helpful to answer my question.
And Steve Truman:
You know if you where to ask nicely I’d tell you how to do it – even on the Free lite version
I did ask nicely: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/dont-understand-why-i-have-to-enter-attributes-twice?replies=1. Well, I thought it was nicely. :-\ Was I really rude? I suppose I could have sugar coated it a little more. But I had spent a lot of time at that point trying to get it to work and I couldn’t find a way to do it.
Had my support question been answered, I never would have given 1 star because maybe I would have understood how to make the plugin work. It looked to me like a pretty cool plugin…as I said in my original support forum post.
but as you have given us a one star rating I won’t
Really? What a great way to solve a problem. I’m sure it is just a reflection of your entire life and I am sad for you.
Out of 17 reviews, 7 give 1 star. 40%. Am I really so out of line? And why, out of the 6 other 1 star reviews, am I the only one that you responded to? Weird. If it were me, I would rather respond to the people that said it broke their site as it’s probably just a conflict with another plugin and just answer my original question about how to make it work.
Best of luck.

In reply to: [Customizr] Problems with slider in WP multisite networkWell, let’s see…
Quoting https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Create_A_Network:
A multisite network is a collection of sites that all share the same WordPress installation. They can also share plugins and themes.
It is the Network Administrator that controls the installation and usage of all plugins across the Network. The Network Administrator can activate (or deactivate) each plugin across the network, so that the plugin is running (or not) on every site.
Most of my plugins are not activated across the network, but I have a few plugins that are. The Network activated plugins don’t usually display in the Plugins section of the sub-site Admin Menu.
I also use a plugin on my Network that gives per site control of activating or deactivating plugins that have not been activated across the network.
So, when I was trouble-shooting the slider, I turned off the plugins that I had activated on the particular site, but forgot about the plugins that were Network Activated.
How’s that?

In reply to: [Customizr] Problems with slider in WP multisite networkThank you again, rdellconsulting, for your response.
I checked the media settings again and there were definitely 5 sliders attached to the slider named in the front page settings. So, I started deactivating plug-ins (I know :-{…I should have done this first) and it started working and then reactivated them all and now the slider is still working in all browsers on all computers.
I’m embarassed. I should know better. Lesson learned. Always deactivate all plug-ins every time there’s a problem. I did check the site plugins, but forgotten about the network activated plug-ins.
Thanks again for the help!

In reply to: [Customizr] Problems with slider in WP multisite networkThanks for the reply ElectricFeet and rdellconsulting. Let me do some more testing. I just noticed the sliders on both sites work on my tablet even when I’m not logged in.
May I ask if you experienced the same problem when you clicked my links?
Thanks again.

In reply to: [Google Forms] Captcha not showingThanks so much for the support and the great plugin! It appears to be my theme that’s causing the duplicate footer.

In reply to: [Google Forms] Captcha not showingBeen submitting forms and the captcha that is there (showing up twice) is working fine, although I am not getting emails as the submitter. I assume that is why the email address shows up in the captcha area.

In reply to: [Google Forms] Captcha not showingThanks for the prompt reply!
I am not using Validation or Hidden Fields. Both are set to no. I don’t think I’m using Preset Values, but I’m not sure where to look to make sure it’s turned off.
I tried your new build and it really wigged things out at the end, though the captcha looks like it’s there.

In reply to: [WangGuard] Installation on multisite caused server errorWhich php version does the plug-in require? I couldn’t find it in the notes.

In reply to: [WangGuard] Installation on multisite caused server errorI downloaded it from your link and then uploaded it to my network plug-in directory and got the same results.
My network base directory is /public_teachers/teachers/wp-substance/plugins. I give you this directory info to let you know that 1. I have renamed my wp-contents folder and 2. my wp install is not in public_html, but in public_teachers, a sub-domain of my site…just in case this might make some difference in the install.

In reply to: [WangGuard] Installation on multisite caused server errorI am using 3.5.1.
Do you mean that you would like me to install v1.5.8 manually using the link at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wangguard/developers/ instead of installing it through admin/plugins?
