Hi Evan. Sorry, I don’t think I was clear.

I don’t want to highlight the main menu tab when hovering on a child. I want to highlight the main menu tab after clicking the child menu item.

In fact, all that is happening correctly as I currently have things set up.

The problem is that children for pages that haven’t yet been visited are highlighted in white too (until they’re visited). And that I don’t want.

I’m using a css child theme. I just apparently don’t know how to successfully target just the main menu tab with the highlight.

I’m unfamiliar with featured content sliders.

Is attaching each image to a separate post the only way I can get images into a featured content slider?

Can I change/remove the link attached to each image in my slide show?

Can I set up different sliders for different pages, or whole sections, of my website?

That was right. Old and New sites operate independently and are not linked and the old site continues to work as it did.

Yes. I wasn’t clear. And after playing with some of the widgets, I see the light! What I want is NOT multiple sidebars, but multiple widgets in a single sidebar. Widgets are separate boxes in and of themselves. Got it. Thanks.

Btdt! They suggested asking here since sidebars are standard to WP, not specific to Suffusion.

I did find a plugin called Multiple Sidebar Widget that I’m playing with. It looks like it creates multiple sidebars in a single column, which is what I think I want. Will report back.

The theme I’m using (suffusion) allows for a right sidebar. So, I don’t need to create columns.

The problem for me (being new to WP) is a conceptual one.

What I don’t understand is: if I want 8 boxes, vertically stacked on top of each other (like this example), is that 8 widgets in one sidebar or 8 widgets each in it’s own sidebar?

And if it’s a single sidebar, does that mean each widget allows for its own styling, and thus I could create separate white boxes with black borders (like in the example)?

And is there an explanation about how to do that.

Found the answer:

Appearance > Suffusions Options > Other Graphical Elements > Post and Page Bylines > Show “Posted By” for Posts?

Change to “Hide Posted By.”

Checkmark them all. Choose “Bulk Actions,” “Edit,” then “Apply.” Then “Comments: Do not allow.” Then “Apply.”
