Highlight category has to specific function the slider works according to
main slider category alone.

Go to Dashboard > Pages > Add New.
Create a Page (for your home page).
Enter the Title (e.g. ‘Home’) and and assign the page with ‘Home Page’ Template.
Click on ‘Publish’ button.

Now Go to Dashboard > Settings > Reading.
Set ‘Front page displays’ option to display ‘A static page’.
Then Select the Page (home page created with ‘home page’ template) from ‘Front Page’ Drop Down List.
Now configure the home page sections.

The slider image needs to be 765x496px or greater if you have a greater image and still having an issue try using regenerate thumbnail to regenerate all your image and it should work

Create a Super Category and make it the parent of all the other existing category and assign that category to any Featured Block
