In reply to: Which file contains WordPress Comments code?Solved problem. Had to install another comment plugin to get any comments.

In reply to: Possible to have Comments & a review plugin on a page?Oh crap. I deleted the wp-customer-reviews plugin hoping the Comments would reappear on all the pages but they didn’t.
Settings seem correct for displaying Comments because site received a Comment earlier today on a page which I didn’t have the Plugin set to function. So Comments worked then and the Leave a Reply comment box appears on that page.
But Comments box doesn’t appear on any other pages.
I’ve cleared cache on server and in browser but still no Comments section appearing on pages.
Problem solved.
Solved. Used html code with link to page included with image displayed.

In reply to: is Html extension needed on new site when old site had html? What sort of robots.txt for the wordpress site would you suggest?
The old site has no ftp access, they just give you a way to build a site, so access to robots.txt on their end is not possible.
I really appreciate your input, Tor-Bjorn. I have to go out for a couple of hours right now, but I should return by 9pm pacific standard time.

In reply to: is Html extension needed on new site when old site had html? The web host name is being changed. The old one is abc.com and the new is def.com
Site is moving from one host to another hosting company and a new domain name is being used on the new site. New site is all https.
Thanks for the link to the redirect page. I appreciate it.
Will I have to insclude the .html extension on the new site redirects in order to retain the google page rankings?

In reply to: is Html extension needed on new site when old site had html? That last redirect shouldn’t have the bold code in it. My mistake in copying it.
I’m wondering if to keep google rankings for each page the redirect should look like this, with the .html extension on new wordpress page:
Redirecthttps://www.xxxxxxxx.com/about-me.html
https://xxxxxxxyyyyyyy.com/about-me.html
Also, what is the best plugin to add the .html extension, if I need to add the .html?

In reply to: is Html extension needed on new site when old site had html? Thanks, To-Bjorn. What I have for redirects now is:
Redirect
https://www.xxxxxxxx.com/about-me.html https://xxxxxxxyyyyyyy.com/about-me/
[R=301,NC,L]Are you saying that to retain the same google rankings for new site as exist for the old site I don’t need to have the redirects read:
Redirecthttps://www.xxxxxxxx.com/about-me<strong>.html</strong> https://xxxxxxxyyyyyyy.com/about-me<strong>.html</strong>

In reply to: is Html extension needed on new site when old site had html?Hi Karloo,
It’s 301 redirects I need to ensure google ranking remains. I’m just not sure if adding the html extension to each page link in the redirect code is necessary to retain google ranking.
I just thought Google might be smart enough to see that abc.com/topic.html redirected to deb.com/topic and wouldn’t hurt the page ranking.
