In reply to: [WooCommerce] Missing product descriptionsI’m back from my trip and ready to tackle this. An email from Astra support plus your comments here gave me some stuff to try. Also, my cousin two days ago made a simple suggestion. Seemed too easy. But I just tried it: Go to the back end, copy and cut the text, update, then re-paste it and hit update again. Voila! It worked. The text is showing. Now I just have to do that about 40 more times. But at least it fixed it. Not sure why it happened in the first place, maybe a glitch when hitting the update? Thanks everyone!

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Missing product descriptionsStef, the one you are looking at is not one of the ones with the problem. The problem still exists. It’s only in about 10% of my products. I am on a cruise so it’s difficult for me to get any Internet and do anything about it currently.

I opened a staging site… Storefront seems to be already activated… so I. just checked and the description appears for a second and disappears… so no change… but then, is Astra still running? I don’t know how to deactivate that. I guess now that I am in staging I can play with it…

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Missing product descriptionsI can’t find how to turn Astra off… as I was clicking around… I got a pop up warning that tweaking my themes could break my site.. I don’t know enough about what I am doing… so I don’t want to make it worse than it already is. I’m sorry, I know you are being so nice and trying to help me… You have to understand that I am 66 and very limited in my knowledge and understanding of how all this works. I am lucky to have a website up and running. I know I did not cause this problem… but I am afraid if I try to fix it, without clear direction… I will make things worse.

I don’t know what a default theme is and how to find those others or use them. I paid to have the WordPress design team help me build my website, and believe me I called them a few times every day for a few weeks till I got it done. I really know very little about most of this.

In reply to: [WooCommerce] Missing product descriptionsThank you for your feedback. I’m kind of stuck, not having the funds to pay someone to fix this and also not having the skills myself. I’m not very tech savvy. My theme is Astra.. and I have reached out to them, tried to explain the problem and see what happens… it might take a few days before they get back to me, since I have the free service.
